Jogakura, Hakkoda, Aomori
Hotel Jogakura, Hakkoda Jogakura Onsen
A good Hakkoda choice if you want to avoid mixed bathing while still having a forest-facing source-flowing outdoor bath, sauna and cold plunge. JR buses serve the hotel, but day-use hours and seasonal timetables need planning. The outdoor bath's temporary closure history means visitors should check its status on the day.

The hotel announced a temporary outdoor-bath closure on July 9, 2026 after a nearby bear sighting. The main onsen page lists the outdoor bath, but a separate reopening notice could not be reliably confirmed in the September 8 check. Verify its current status before visiting specifically for the outdoor bath. Check winter road restrictions on Route 103 as well.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
