Hakkoda–Towada, Aomori
Yachi Onsen
A distinctive Hakkoda stop if you want a naturally bubbling floor source and a notably cool 38°C spring. It is a different experience from Sukayu's large mixed bath and strongly acidic water. The day-use window is short, seasonal bus service matters, and winter road closures can change the route.
Check before bathing
- Opening hours
- Day use 10:00–15:00; last reception 14:30. Adult admission (junior-high-school age and up) ¥800; children ¥450; preschool children free. From November 1 through the end of April, the current day-use page lists Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday closures; additional temporary closures may occur.
- Tattoo policy
- No tattoo rule was confirmed on the current first-party pages. Ask the inn before visiting.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- Shita-no-Yu 38°C; Ue-no-Yu 42°C. These are source temperatures listed by the operator, not measured bath temperatures.
- Bathing temperature
- Not published.
- Spring source
- Two distinct springs: Shita-no-Yu and Ue-no-Yu.
- Spring classification
- Shita-no-Yu: simple sulfur spring, hydrogen-sulfide type, hypotonic and weakly acidic. Ue-no-Yu: simple spring, hypotonic, weakly acidic and low-temperature; sulfur deposits give it a cloudy appearance.
- pH
- Not published.
- Flow rate
- Not published.
- Water handling
- The operator describes both baths as source-flowing. Shita-no-Yu rises directly through the floor of the bath.
The operator says there is no sauna. In winter, Route 103 between Sukayu and the Yachi area closes; do not assume the summer road approach remains available.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
