Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- 100.4°C in an analysis dated February 22, 1994; this is not a 2026 re-sampling.
- Bathing temperature
- No fixed temperature published. The operator says staff monitor and adjust some baths seasonally.
- Spring source
- Hyotan Onsen source; the current site links to its analysis sheet.
- Spring classification
- Sodium-chloride spring; weakly acidic, low salinity and high-temperature spring.
- pH
- 3.1 in the February 22, 1994 analysis.
- Flow rate
- 500 L/min in the February 22, 1994 analysis.
- Water handling
- The operator describes the spring as 100% source-flowing. A bamboo cooling tower cools the high-temperature source water rather than relying mainly on dilution. The facility lists public indoor and outdoor baths, waterfall baths, steam baths and family baths; treatment details for each pool are not fully published.
- Analysis date
- 1994-02-22
100.4°C is the historical source temperature, not a bathing temperature.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
