Higashimachi, Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture

Asanogawa Onsen Yuraku

A compelling choice if you are willing to travel beyond central Kanazawa for two natural springs, a hillside outdoor bath, source-flowing bathing and a free sauna. It is less suitable for a quick station-side visit or anyone who needs confirmed tattoo access.

Spring & water temperature

Spring-source temperature
No. 2: 48.0°C (2023 analysis). No. 3: 50.7°C (2015 analysis).
Bathing temperature
Not published. The facility describes Tomuro-no-yu as somewhat warmer and Io-no-yu as adjusted for comfortable bathing, without fixed pool temperatures.
Spring source
Asanogawa Onsen No. 2 (Io-no-yu) and No. 3 (Tomuro-no-yu) springs.
Spring classification
Both are sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate springs (low-tonicity, weakly alkaline, high-temperature springs).
pH
No. 2: pH 8.0 at the site and 7.91 in analysis. No. 3: pH 7.7 at the site and 7.94 in analysis.
Flow rate
No. 2: 326 L/min by pumped supply. No. 3: 448 L/min by drilled, powered lift. The current analyses total 774 L/min; Ishikawa tourism still lists an older combined figure of 1,200 L/min, so the discrepancy is retained.
Water handling
The facility describes the entire bathing experience as 100% pure source water and source-flowing, with no added water or bath additives. Io-no-yu is used for the outdoor bath; Tomuro-no-yu is used indoors and outdoors. The facility says Io-no-yu is adjusted to a comfortable bathing temperature, but it does not fully publish heating, natural-cooling, circulation filtration or disinfection conditions for each pool.

Bathing indications

The official spring page lists general bathing indications including neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, frozen shoulder, limited movement, stiffness, bruising, sprains, chronic digestive complaints, haemorrhoids, sensitivity to cold, recovery after illness, fatigue, cuts, burns and chronic skin conditions. These are not a treatment guarantee.

Adult admission is ¥490; elementary-school children ¥130; ages 4–5 ¥50; children aged 3 and under are free. There are no complimentary shampoo or body-wash amenities; a travel set is ¥350. Ishikawa tourism's older figures of 52°C and 1,200 L/min do not match the separate spring analyses and are not used as the profile's source data.
