Meotoiwa Onsen Rakuyō
A good-value choice for drivers on National Route 157 around Kawachi, Torigoe, the Tedori Gorge and the Hakusan foothills. It is not a good fit for an early soak, sauna or open-air bath, or for visitors relying on frequent buses.
Check before bathing
- Opening hours
- 15:00–21:00 every day; last admission 20:30. Closed Mondays, or the following day if Monday is a national holiday. Also closed over the New Year period.
- Tattoo policy
- The current first-party information reviewed does not confirm a tattoo policy. Ask the facility before visiting.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- Not published for a source that can be directly matched to Rakuyō in current 2026 official pages.
- Bathing temperature
- Not published.
- Spring source
- A spring near the Tedori River and Meotoiwa; the current official pages do not publish its exact well name.
- Spring classification
- Sodium-calcium sulfate spring.
- pH
- Not published.
- Flow rate
- Not published.
- Water handling
- Hakusan City's current municipal-bath page and the operator confirm that Rakuyō uses a natural sulfate spring. The main 2026 pages do not give complete pool-by-pool details for water addition, heating, circulation filtration, disinfection or overflow, so the bath is not described as entirely source-flowing.
Bathing indications
Hakusan City's current page lists general bathing indications including neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, frozen shoulder, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive conditions, haemorrhoids, sensitivity to cold, fatigue, cuts, burns and arteriosclerosis. These are not treatment guarantees.
Current main pages do not fully specify water addition, heating, circulation, disinfection or overflow for each pool.
Admission is ¥400 for adults, ¥100 for elementary-school children and ¥50 for children aged 3 and older. An older 2022 page lists a third-Monday closure; it is not used as the current schedule.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
