Amihari Onsen, Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture
Yakushi-no-Yu Bathing Hall
The easiest of Amihari's options for a conventional day visit, with indoor and outdoor baths, a large rest room and food on site. In winter, the outdoor bath may close if its temperature cannot be maintained.
Check before bathing
- Opening hours
- From April 11, 2026: weekday reception 09:00–17:00; weekends and public holidays 09:00–18:00. Adult admission ¥700 and elementary-school admission ¥350. Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- About 73°C in the operator's FAQ; this is not the bath temperature.
- Bathing temperature
- No fixed pool temperatures are published. The outdoor bath may be suspended in winter if the water cools too much.
- Spring source
- Amihari Onsen Motoyu, on the former crater side of Mt. Inukurayama; the current facility page does not give a formal source-well name.
- Spring classification
- Simple spring / hydrogen-sulfide-type sulfur spring; weakly acidic.
- pH
- 4.1 for Amihari Onsen overall, according to the operator.
- Flow rate
- Not published.
- Water handling
- The operator describes Amihari Onsen as source-flowing. The source system mixes in stream water, and the facility does not publish complete pool-by-pool treatment details, so no-bath-addition or no-heating claims should not be assumed.
The spring figures describe Amihari Onsen overall rather than a separate analysis of each Yakushi-no-Yu pool. Winter weather, low flow or strong winds can affect outdoor-bath operation.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
