Shiratori Onsen, Ebino, Miyazaki Prefecture
Shiratori Onsen Kamiyu
The best first stop if you want Shiratori's panoramic outdoor bath, natural steam bath and history in one facility. Its bathing water is made by heating cold mountain water with geothermal heat, rather than drawing a conventional hot underground spring directly into the pools.

- Opening hours

Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- Not published. The cold-water-and-geothermal-heating supply method does not provide a precise spring-source temperature; an older 42°C bath-fill figure is not substituted.
- Bathing temperature
- No fixed pool temperature is published on the current facility page.
- Spring source
- Bathing water at Shiratori Onsen Kamiyu, made by heating cold mountain water geothermally so it absorbs hot-spring minerals, according to Ebino City's current description.
- Spring classification
- Simple acidic spring on Ebino City's current facility page. The Kyushu Onsen-michi page from April 2026 abbreviates this to simple spring; the differing wording is retained.
- pH
- Not published.
- Flow rate
- Not published.
- Water handling
- Cold mountain water is heated geothermally to produce the bathing water. The facility offers indoor and panoramic outdoor baths, plus a separate natural steam bath. This is distinct from direct source-flowing water from a conventional high-temperature underground spring.
Bathing indications
Ebino City lists general indications including neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, frozen shoulder, sensitivity to cold, fatigue and health promotion. This is not a treatment guarantee.
Admission for visitors from outside Ebino is ¥500 for junior-high students and older, ¥250 for elementary-school children; Ebino residents aged junior-high and older pay ¥310. Tattoo rules are not confirmed.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
