South of Settsukyo Gorge, Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture
Bijin-yu Shofuen
Choose Shofuen for its pH 9.2 bicarbonate spring and large rooftop open-air bath. It is less convenient from the station than Tenjin-no-Yu, but offers a stronger mix of distinctive water and open-air scenery.

- Water handling
- The facility uses its own spring in the large bath, open-air baths and family baths. Current main text pages do not give water-addition, heating, circulation or disinfection conditions for each bath, so not every bath is described as 100% source-flowing. Current secondary information identifies both the indoor bath and open-air tub in the family bath as natural spring water.
Bathing indications
Official facility and Sansuikan materials list general bicarbonate-spring indications such as neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, cuts, burns and chronic dermatitis. This is not a treatment guarantee.
Takatsuki's tourism association lists hours of 10:00–24:00, with last admission at 23:00, and says the facility is generally open year-round. Current 2026 secondary sources agree on adult admission of ¥1,200 on weekdays and ¥1,300 on weekends and public holidays; the tourism association's 2023 prices are outdated. Family baths require a 90-minute reservation. Current secondary information says they are limited to married couples who can show proof, and unmarried couples are not eligible; confirm this directly with the facility before booking.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
