Umiakari Main Building Day-Use Bath
A half-day option for visitors who want an inn's sea-view bath and a meal. For a low-cost soak alone, Himi Onsenkyo Sōyu or Isonamikaze is a better fit.
Check before bathing
- Tattoo policy
- The current main-bath, day-use, notice and inquiry pages reviewed on 7 September 2026 do not state a tattoo policy. Ask the inn before booking a non-refundable plan.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- No. 1: 56.8°C; No. 2: 52.2°C. These are source temperatures, not fixed pool temperatures.
- Bathing temperature
- Not published.
- Spring source
- Iwaido Onsen No. 1 and No. 2 springs.
- Spring classification
- Both are sodium chloride springs. No. 1 is high-salinity and mildly alkaline; No. 2 is isotonic and mildly alkaline. Both are classified as hot springs.
- pH
- Not published in the current material summarized here.
- Flow rate
- Not published in the current material summarized here.
- Water handling
- The inn explicitly describes the main building's panoramic bath as using 100% natural spring water. The adjacent Shio-no-Ka-tei annex has been closed long-term since 29 August 2026 after disaster damage; its older source-flowing description is not treated as a current day-use product. The main building's current pages do not give full bath-by-bath details for water addition, heating, circulation and disinfection, so the main bath is not described as entirely source-flowing.
Bathing indications
The inn lists general and spring-type bathing indications for the two Iwaido springs, including neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, sensitivity to cold, fatigue and cuts. These are general hot-spring indications, not medical promises.
The main building's panoramic bath is described as natural spring water. Full treatment conditions for each pool are not published; the closed annex is not treated as a current day-use option.
The former ¥660 day-use bath at the Shio-no-Ka-tei annex is not currently available. Main-building day-use meal-and-bath plans start around ¥3,740 per person, plus ¥150 bathing tax; availability, dates and booking deadlines vary. The free JR Himi Station shuttle is for overnight guests and should not be assumed for day visitors.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
