Yunosato Communal Bath
A ¥200 local bath tucked behind the main hot-spring street, with a short walk from the bus stop. Spring information has conflicting historical readings, so older source temperatures should not be used as current figures.
Check before bathing
- Opening hours
- 09:00–22:00; closed Tuesdays. Adults ¥200 and children ¥100. About four free parking spaces are listed.
- Access
- About a 2-minute walk from Bessho-guchi bus stop; the bath is in a residential area behind the hot-spring district.
- Tattoo policy
- The current tourism page does not publish a standing tattoo rule; contact the bath before visiting if this matters.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- Not published. Older readings of 44°C and a much higher secondary reading of 92.3°C conflict and are not treated as current values.
- Bathing temperature
- Not published; dated visitor observations are not fixed settings.
- Spring classification
- The current Unzen tourism listing describes a sulfate spring; the latest facility-specific analysis has not been obtained.
- pH
- The current tourism page lists pH 2.3, while recent secondary field reports give pH 3.0 and a different spring classification. A new individual analysis is needed to resolve the discrepancy.
- Flow rate
- Not published.
- Water handling
- Current first-party material does not fully publish water addition, heating, circulation or disinfection. Older reports and secondary field accounts mention source-flowing water and possible source changes, but do not settle current operation.
The acidic-water description calls for care if your skin or mucous membranes are sensitive. Do not rely on older source temperatures until a current individual analysis is available.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
