Yunohama Onsen, Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture
Oku-Yunohama Onsen Tatsunoyu
Yunohama's leading day-use choice if you care more about bath variety, two spring types, sauna and private-bath options than the lowest price. Its hours change by date, so don't plan around a single fixed schedule.
Check before bathing
- Opening hours
- Day-use hours vary by month and date. The facility typically opens later on Wednesdays, around 13:00, for equipment inspection. Check the current day's schedule before travelling.
- Tattoo policy
- The current profile material does not include a confirmed tattoo policy. Ask the inn before visiting.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- Not published for the current sources.
- Bathing temperature
- Not published as fixed settings for the five pools.
- Spring source
- Tatsunoyu's own Tatsunoyu spring, a simple spring, plus the centrally managed Yunohama Onsen chloride spring.
- Spring classification
- Alkaline simple hot spring (low-salinity, weakly alkaline and high-temperature) and sodium-calcium chloride spring.
- pH
- Not published in the current main text pages reviewed.
- Flow rate
- Not published in the current main text pages reviewed.
- Water handling
- The current inn page lists two kinds of spring water in one bathing area, with two indoor pools and three open-air pools. Current pages do not publish complete pool-by-pool conditions for water addition, heating, circulation or disinfection. An older statement that the water is not heated, diluted or circulated is not treated as a current blanket guarantee for every pool.
Bathing indications
The inn lists general bathing indications for the simple spring, including neuralgia, joint pain and sensitivity to cold, and indications for cuts for the chloride spring. These are not treatment guarantees.
The current page confirms two spring types and five pools; it does not provide complete treatment conditions for each pool.
Regular day admission is ¥800 for adults, ¥500 for elementary-school children and ¥300 for children aged three and over. Special dates during Golden Week, summer and New Year can cost more. A bath-day discount may apply on weekdays whose date ends in 6, except during busy periods. Tattoo rules are unconfirmed.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
