Yumen Onsen, Misumi, Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture
Yumen Fureai Center
A good-value stop between Nagato and Hagi if you want an open-air bath, sauna and a place to rest. Choose another spring in the same district if a high-radon water source or a fully documented source-flowing setup is your priority.

- Tattoo policy
- The facility's current first-party information does not confirm a tattoo policy. Check with the center before visiting.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- 36.1°C, from Nagato City's 2020 analysis of Misumi No. 5. This is the source temperature, not a fixed pool temperature.
- Bathing temperature
- Not published.
- Spring source
- Misumi No. 5 spring, owned by Nagato City.
- Spring classification
- Alkaline simple hot spring; low-salinity and alkaline.
- pH
- Not published in the current material summarized here.
- Flow rate
- Not published in the current material summarized here.
- Water handling
- Nagato City, its tourism association and the Yamaguchi Onsen Association confirm that the facility uses natural spring water. Current main official pages do not provide complete treatment conditions for the indoor bath, open-air bath, waterfall shower and bubble bath, so no pool-by-pool method is inferred. Cleaning and disinfection after a 2023 water-quality incident are not evidence of the routine treatment method.

Bathing indications
The 2020 analysis lists general bathing indications such as chronic muscle and joint pain, sensitivity to cold, poor peripheral circulation, fatigue and general health maintenance. These are not personal treatment guarantees. It also lists spring-type indications relating to autonomic symptoms, insomnia and low mood; these are general hot-spring classifications, not medical advice.
The facility's current main pages do not publish complete treatment details for each pool. A 2023 water-quality incident was followed by cleaning, disinfection and retesting; that response does not establish routine disinfection practices.
Do not apply the wider Yumen district's “high radium” promotion to this spring. The 2020 analysis reported radon below 5.5×10⁻¹⁰ Ci/kg. In 2023, Legionella was detected in a bathing pool but not in the source; after cleaning, disinfection and retesting, the facility resumed normal operations on 2 August 2023.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
