Yubune Ryugasaki: Strong-Saline Spring, Sauna and a Useful Bus Route
Plan a visit to Yubune Ryugasaki with current admission, natural-spring details, sauna and stone-spa options, bus access and tattoo rules.
Yubune Ryugasaki is a large day-use bathhouse in the Tatsunoko-machi Ryugasaki shopping complex, with a natural sodium-chloride spring and a carbonated bath made from that same spring water. A fitness club also shares the building.
What admission covers
| Adult plan | Weekday | Weekend / holiday | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bath only | ¥1,050 | ¥1,250 | Main baths and sauna |
| Relaxed Plan | ¥1,450 | ¥1,650 | Indoor wear |
| Stone Spa Plan | ¥1,650 | ¥1,950 | Three heated rooms, lounge, stone-spa wear and floor towel |
The bath-only course is enough for a soak and sauna. The Stone Spa Plan is the longer-stay option; indoor wear comes with the Relaxed and Stone Spa plans.
Bath hours are 9 a.m. to midnight, with last entry at 11:30 p.m. On selected Fridays and Saturdays, closing extends to 1 a.m. with last entry at midnight; check the schedule before relying on the later hours. Maintenance closures are announced in advance. A towel set rents for ¥360, while face and bath towels are also available separately. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are supplied.
The spring and the carbonated bath
The spring is a high-concentration sodium-chloride hot spring. One of the seven bathing features is a natural spring bath; another uses the same spring water with carbon dioxide added in the bath.
The published spring information comes in layers. The current bath page confirms a high-concentration sodium-chloride spring but does not give a fresh full analysis. A separate brand page uses an iodine-bearing sodium-chloride label. The often-repeated figures of 28.1°C, pH 7.4 and 252 litres per minute come from a 2018 analysis record, not a 2026 retest; treat them as historical data.
The other bathing options include a rotating seasonal bath, a lukewarm bath, individual ceramic tubs, a reclining bath, sauna and cold plunge. Two of the seven bath types use natural spring water.
That distinction matters if natural water is your reason for coming: the facility’s own descriptions identify the spring bath and the spring-water carbonated bath, not every pool in the building. The latter starts with the natural spring and adds carbon dioxide; it is not a second naturally carbonated source.
Sauna and the stone-spa rooms
The sauna and cold plunge are part of the regular bathing visit. Men’s sessions may include scheduled loyly events, but event times vary; the shop calendar is the place to check if you are aiming for one.
The separate stone-spa area has three heated rooms—Kinsyu, Enka and Hoshun—plus a cooling room and a lounge with manga. It is a longer-stay option; for a short soak, the bath-only plan covers the main baths and sauna.
The Kinsyu room no longer has projection mapping, which older descriptions may still mention.
The spa also lists about 6,100 manga volumes. It makes more sense if you intend to stay for the lounge as well as the baths. Because a fitness club shares the building, crowd levels can shift with member traffic; recent visitor reports describe both quieter weekday periods and noisier Friday evenings. If a calm soak matters, choose the time of day carefully rather than assuming the whole facility has one consistent atmosphere.
The facility’s 2026 update also says the air-conditioning problem reported in July has been repaired. Older reports of that outage should not be read as a current operating issue.
Before choosing the stone-spa plan
The bath-only ticket covers the hot-spring baths and sauna. The stone-spa plan is aimed at a longer visit, with three heated rooms, a cooling space and lounge. Take breaks between the hot spring and sauna, and skip the sauna if you feel unwell.
Getting there without a car
From JR Ryugasaki-shi Station, take a Kanto Railway bus bound for Shiraha from stop 3 and get off at Yawara Elementary School, about a three-minute walk away. The bathhouse has no dedicated shuttle bus.
Drivers can reach the complex from Ami-higashi Interchange in about 18 minutes. The shopping complex has roughly 1,000 parking spaces, with room for up to 1,063 cars.
Children and tattoo cover stickers
Children under three enter free. Elementary-school students and younger need an adult, and children may not use the opposite-sex bath from age seven or 120 cm tall, whichever comes first. Children in diapers should use the baby bath, not the communal tubs; preschoolers cannot enter the stone-spa area.
Yubune allows tattoos covered completely by up to two of its own cover stickers; other brands do not qualify. Check with the bathhouse before travelling if you plan to use a sticker.
Who will enjoy this stop?
Yubune fits a day around Ryugasaki, Ushiku, Toride or Ami, especially if the salty spring and spring-water carbonated bath appeal to you. Bath-only admission covers the main baths and sauna. The stone-spa plan is for visitors with time to use the rooms and lounge.
