Kinosaki Ginka Ryokan: River Views, Private Hot Springs and the Station Shuttle
Ginka is a riverside stay 10 minutes by car from Kinosaki Station. Natural spring water is in shared and private-use baths; guestroom tubs use heated tap water.
Ginka sits beside the Maruyama River, away from Kinosaki’s central bathhouse streets. All 16 rooms have hinoki tubs, but those baths use heated tap water. The natural spring water is in the shared bathhouse and two private-use baths, so choose a room for its view and layout rather than an in-room hot spring.

The source water is an alkaline simple spring, listed at 25.4°C and pH 9.90. Ginka’s official page says it is diluted, heated and circulated through filtration. It is not a 100% source-flow bath. If bathing together matters, reserve one of the two private baths soon after arrival; leaving it until after dinner risks finding your preferred time taken.
Both private baths are free for overnight guests and can only be reserved after arrival. Slots last 40 minutes. The usual booking windows are 3–11 p.m. and 7–10 a.m.; the final sessions may end at 11:40 p.m. and 10:40 a.m. The remaining 20 minutes of each hour are reserved for cleaning. Ask at check-in, before settling on a dinner or shuttle plan.
Plan the transfer before you book
The hotel is about ten minutes from Kinosaki Onsen Station by car. Station pickup requires advance reservation, has limited seats, and runs at 2:15, 3:15, 4:15, 5:15 and 6:15 p.m.
Evening shuttles between the ryokan and town also require reservations; morning service only drops guests at the station. Confirm the timetable for your stay, especially if your train arrives late or bad weather is expected.
The shuttle is reservation-only, not an on-demand service. The eight-seat station pickup has these listed departures:

Confirm the timetable for your stay, especially if your train is due late or bad weather may affect the trip. The evening schedule leaves less freedom for repeated trips into town than staying in the centre.
This location suits a stay focused on the river, meals and the inn’s baths. It is less convenient if you expect to walk to town repeatedly whenever you like. Do not assume an advertised shuttle is on demand: the hotel says it will not run without a reservation.
Families and room details
The inn has no elevator. Its FAQ says children below elementary-school age can stay only in a specified second-floor Japanese-style room; the 12-tatami room can accommodate up to six. The hotel also lists child co-sleeping and facility charges by age. Confirm the exact occupancy, stair access and charges directly before booking with young children.

Dinner is served at the property, and the inn says its dining area has private seating. If you are considering a plan without dinner, check nearby dining and the evening shuttle first; the riverside location is not a good base for relying on a spontaneous walk to town and back.
There is no nearby restaurant the inn recommends for a walk-in dinner, and the closest convenience store is about a ten-minute drive away. Check meal availability before booking a stay without dinner. For dinner at the inn, the practical cutoff is the 7 p.m. final seating, not the later kitchen closing time.

Room choice is about the view, not an in-room hot spring
The river-facing second-floor Japanese-Western room is about 49 m² and sleeps one to four. The second-floor 12-tatami Japanese room sleeps up to six; many first-floor Japanese rooms face the garden or have a lower outlook. Since every guestroom hinoki tub uses heated tap water, compare the extra cost of a river-facing room against the view, floor and bed layout—not the idea of having a private natural hot spring.

Before booking, decide whether the room’s heated hinoki bath suits you, then check the station pickup and dinner arrangements. Kinosaki’s central public baths are reachable by shuttle, but the fixed evening timetable limits how freely you can come and go.
