ALPEN BLICK Spa in Myoko: How to Get There and Plan a Day Visit
Plan a day at ALPEN BLICK Spa in Myoko: current admission, seasonal hours, tattoo policy and the Suginosawa Line from Myoko-Kogen Station.
Ikenotaira is spread between the lake, ski area and mountain foothills, so map pins can make this outing look easier to improvise than it is. The spa itself is straightforward: adult admission is ¥800, the outdoor bath has dark, sulfur-bearing water, and there are indoor baths, a sauna and places to rest. The part that needs planning is the return journey, especially outside the winter resort shuttle period.
Is it a good fit for your day?
This is a practical choice if you want a proper indoor bathing facility rather than a short stop at an exposed seasonal bath. The outdoor pool is the visual draw: the resort describes its water as a sulfur-bearing spring mixed with black mud. The indoor bath uses filtered spring water and looks clear. A sauna, rest areas, a shop and a dining room make it easier to spend several hours here, whether you are coming back from skiing or want somewhere to sit between buses.

Getting there from Myoko-Kogen Station
For a day visit, take Myoko City’s Suginosawa Line and get off at Alpenblick Spa. The stop serves the day-use bath directly. The resort’s green-season shuttle between Myoko-Kogen Station and the hotel runs only for overnight guests; it must be booked by 5:00 pm on the day before arrival. Don’t count on it as a free transfer for a spa-only visit.
The city’s current Suginosawa Line timetable is valid from April 1 through November 30, 2026. The route and departures have changed in recent seasons, so check the PDF for your exact travel date and confirm both the outward and return trips. Missing a return bus can leave a long gap; the spa is not beside the station, and there may not be a convenient alternative at short notice. The city lists Myoko Hub Network as the operator for Suginosawa Line service questions: 0255-78-7166.
Myoko also runs a seasonal sightseeing bus, the Myoko Kogen Line, linking places such as Imori Pond, Naena Falls, Akakura and Seki/Tsubame Onsen. In 2026 it is scheduled from April 25 to November 3.
| Myoko Kogen two-day pass | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | ¥1,000 adults; ¥500 children |
| Validity | Two days; scheduled April 25–November 3, 2026 |
| Routes covered | Myoko Kogen, Akakura, Suginosawa and Seki/Tsubame |
| Where to buy | Myoko-Kogen Tourist Information Centre or participating city buses |
The pass may suit a multi-stop day. For a spa-only round trip, compare its price with the regular bus fare first.
Can you combine it with Imori Pond?
Imori Pond is a pleasant nearby walk, but allow for the bus timetable to shape the visit. The pond, spa and station are separate stops rather than one compact complex. Check how often the routes connect before deciding whether to bathe first or walk first. If the next bus leaves a long wait, it is usually easier to make the spa the main stop than to cram in several places.
The sightseeing pass is useful for this kind of multi-stop day, but it does not remove the need to check which line serves each leg and when the last bus runs. The Myoko Kogen Line is seasonal, while the Suginosawa Line has its own date-specific timetable.
Opening days and winter parking
Green-season bathing hours are 9:00 am–10:00 pm, with last entry at 9:30 pm. Tuesday is the regular closing day in this season, though special operating notices can override the usual schedule. In the snow season, the spa opens earlier—7:00 am–10:30 pm, with last entry at 10:00 pm—and lists no regular weekly closing day. Check the resort’s latest notice around seasonal changeovers or before travelling on a Tuesday.
Driving is the simplest option if you are visiting several Myoko sights or travelling when the bus connections do not work. The resort lists free parking. In the snow season, however, the car park is closed from midnight for snow clearing, and overnight stays or unauthorised parking are prohibited. The spa’s separate nap package is an indoor rest product; it does not permit sleeping in the car park.
What the nap package does—and doesn’t—cover
The spa advertises a seasonal, date-specific nap package at ¥4,400 for adults and ¥3,000 for elementary-school children. Preschool children are free when they do not use a nap mattress. This is a separate product, not an overnight add-on included with the ¥800 standard bath ticket. Dates and availability can change independently of the spa’s ordinary opening hours, so confirm the package directly before building a late-night arrival around it.
A few useful details once you arrive
The building has a large common rest room, internet space, a shop, a children’s area and free Wi-Fi. The dining room, Nihontei Bettei Tsugumi, serves meals and has its own schedule; spa opening does not guarantee that food service is available throughout the day. In green season the posted restaurant schedule differs on weekdays and weekends and lists Tuesday and Wednesday as regular closing days. In snow season it lists afternoon-to-late-evening service. Check the current notice if eating here is part of the plan.
Guests with tattoos may use the baths under the resort’s policy. Dedicated cover stickers are sold at the spa counter; visitors are asked to cover tattooed areas as much as practicable, though the policy does not require every design to be fully hidden. Follow staff instructions for the bathing and sauna areas.
