Moriguchi Sento Guide: Six Current Public Baths and Their Hours

Compare Moriguchi’s six currently listed sento, including Kiyotaki Onsen’s Sunday 6:30 a.m. opening, late baths and date-specific closures.

The current association directory lists six Moriguchi bathhouses. Older round-ups may show Hoorai Onsen and Shinkoharu Onsen as active as well, but neither appears in the current directory. Their detail pages still load, which is not enough to establish that they are operating; I’ve kept them out of the active list rather than present stale hours as current. A separate notice lists September 29, 2026 as a temporary closure for Omiya Onsen.

The standard adult admission at Osaka association-member sento is ¥600. Sauna use, towels and other extras may cost more; check each bathhouse’s current terms rather than assuming the base fare covers every facility.

Which one fits your route?

Kiyotaki is the clearest choice for a Sunday start: its listed opening begins at 6:30 a.m., then it remains open into the night. For a late bath, Omiya and Shinoba both list 1 a.m. closing, while Shinmachiyu closes earlier and sits a longer walk from the station.

The facilities have different practical draws. Fujita Onsen still heats its bath water with firewood and lists a steam sauna, medicinal bath and free shampoo. Hinomotoyu has the broadest equipment list: dry and steam saunas, softened water, a rotating medicinal bath and an outdoor salt bath. Shin-Oba is designated as a runner-friendly sento, with a bus stop close by and nine car spaces. Hoorai and Shinkoharu are present in the current directory, though their listings provide fewer facility details.

The directory listings publish no spring analyses for these bathhouses. “Onsen” in a name, wood-fired heating and softened water do not confirm a natural hot spring.

Omiya Onsen also had a one-off closure notice for September 29, 2026. That date has passed; it is a reminder that the usual 9th/19th/29th pattern can shift around weekends and public holidays. Check its current notice for your own date.

Hinomotoyu’s rest-day information is another point to verify. Its newer individual page lists Friday only, while the broader directory still says Monday and Friday. The newer detail page is the better starting point, but if you plan to go on Monday, confirm with the bathhouse first. The current pages do not provide enough spring-analysis information to classify any of these six as a confirmed natural hot spring; a soft-water bath and wood-fired heating describe the bathing experience, not a natural source.

If your route runs through Keihan Takii, Kiyotaki is the closest fit; from Owada, Fujita is the shorter walk while Shinmachiyu offers a simpler sauna-and-cold-bath setup. Near Dainichi, Shin-Oba is the runner-friendly choice with the closer bus stop. Hinomotoyu has the widest facility list but sits farther from Moriguchi Station. The public-bath standard is ¥600 for adults, ¥200 for school-age children and ¥100 for younger children; extras such as sauna and towels vary.

For more city-wide choices, see the Osaka sento guide or the early-morning and late-night bathing guide.

For other nearby districts, compare the Asahi and Joto sento guide or the Osaka day-onsen guide. Travellers specifically looking for a documented natural spring can compare Tsurumi Suisyun and Spa Suminoe; the Moriguchi bathhouses above are listed as sento, not verified spring-water facilities.
