Naniwa no Yu, Osaka: Natural Spring Baths on the Eighth Floor
Naniwa no Yu has natural spring water, outdoor baths and sauna, a 10-minute walk from Tenjinbashisuji-6chome. Towels are sold, and re-entry isn’t allowed.
Naniwa no Yu is a city day spa rather than a small neighbourhood sento. The draw is an eighth-floor bathing area with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and natural spring water. It is around 10 minutes on foot from Tenjinbashisuji-6chome Station’s Exit 5.
| Day-visit detail | Weekday | Weekend or public holiday |
|---|---|---|
| Adult admission | ¥900 | ¥1,000 |
| Hours | 10 a.m.–1 a.m. | 8 a.m.–1 a.m. |
| Last reception | Midnight | Midnight |
Towels are sold, not rented: a small towel costs ¥150 and a bath towel ¥500. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided in the bathing area.
What the spring information does—and does not—say
The facility identifies its source as Naniwa no Yu, a sodium-chloride and bicarbonate spring. Its general guide lists 35.3°C, while the newer spring page gives 33.7°C. Use the current water page for the latest figure; treat the mismatch as a published-data discrepancy, not a bathing-pool temperature.
The source-water bath is labelled 100% natural spring water. The facility also says the baths are heated as needed, circulated and filtered, and disinfected with chlorine-based products. The whole bathing area should not be described as free-flowing source water. The cold bath uses well water.
The outdoor area includes a source-water bath, pot baths, a rock bath and a shallow reclining bath. The eighth-floor setting gives the pools an open-air feel, though privacy screens mean it is not an unobstructed city lookout.
The wider bath menu also includes a carbonated bath and several sauna styles; the layout is designed for a longer circuit, not a single soak. The facility does not offer a private family bath, and its one-entry rule means you should eat or take a break before entering if you want to avoid retracing your steps.

Budget for towels and mind the one-entry rule
| Visit with purchased towels | Weekday | Weekend or public holiday |
|---|---|---|
| Admission plus small and bath towel | ¥1,550 | ¥1,650 |
Bringing your own towels keeps the cost near the entry price. Re-entry is not allowed, so plan meals and breaks before you enter.
The current rules prohibit entry for people with tattoos, including temporary tattoos, stickers and painted designs. The published rules do not state a covering exception. Children below elementary-school age must be accompanied by a guardian. If either policy affects your group, check the current facility rules before setting out.
Getting there, by train or car
From Tenjinbashisuji-6chome Station, use Exit 5 and walk north for about 10 minutes. Osaka City Bus route 34 from Osaka Station stops at Nagaranishi, close to the entrance. By car, the facility advertises parking for up to six hours free: three hours with bath admission, plus another three hours when you use other participating shops. The car park has a 2.3-metre height limit.
For a short stop near Osaka Station, compare the 60-minute option in the Osaka day-onsen guide. Naniwa no Yu is a better fit when you have time for a longer bath and are already on the Tenma or Tenjinbashisuji side of the city.
With a longer visit, Naniwa no Yu’s larger outdoor circuit may justify the trip from Osaka Station. For a quick soak near the station, compare Umekita Onsen Ren’s 60-minute ticket; for a family bath or longer stay, see Nobeha no Yu in Tsuruhashi.
