Nobeha Tsuruhashi or Spa Suminoe? Two Late-Night Osaka Onsen
Spa Suminoe costs less and suits southern Osaka; Nobeha Tsuruhashi adds a clothing-required heated lounge and reservable private family baths.
Both facilities stay open until 02:00 and have natural hot spring baths, outdoor bathing and saunas. The practical choice is usually the one that fits your evening route. Nobeha no Yu Tsuruhashi is close to Tsuruhashi Station and better suited to a longer visit. Spa Suminoe costs less at the door and makes more sense after plans around Suminoe, Nanko or southern Osaka.
That ¥200 weekday or weekend difference is only the entry price. Nobeha’s advantage grows if you will use its clothed heated lounge or a family bath; if you only need the shared baths and sauna, the cheaper ticket may be enough. The location can decide it just as quickly: Tsuruhashi is a useful rail interchange on Osaka’s east side, while Spa Suminoe is the more natural stop for Suminoe-koen, Nanko or the southern waterfront.

For a shorter, lower-cost visit: Spa Suminoe
At ¥800 on weekdays or ¥900 on weekends and holidays, Spa Suminoe is the less expensive choice for a straightforward soak and sauna. Its official guide lists year-round hours of 10:00–02:00, with last entry at 01:00. Bring towels or rent them; the facility asks visitors to bring their own.
The outdoor bathing area alternates between the Forest and Bamboo Grove layouts by week. Check which side is in use if one particular setting is the reason for going. Spa Suminoe also prohibits tattoos and does not admit children who are not yet toilet trained to the baths. Those rules can be more decisive than the ¥200 price difference.
Nobeha is easier to turn into an evening out
Nobeha charges ¥1,000 on weekdays and ¥1,100 on weekends and holidays. Admission includes the hot-spring baths, outdoor baths and public sauna. It opens at 9 a.m., with last bath entry at 1 a.m. The clothing-required Yakuseki Hanshōbō heated lounge is an extra; last entry is midnight.
Private family baths are another separate product. The facility lists eleven types, starting at ¥4,000 per room for one hour. Book and check the room-specific terms if privacy or bathing together is important; ordinary admission is for the shared bath area, not a private bath.
The two venues describe their water differently. Nobeha specifies some natural spring baths and a spring-fed standing bath, while Spa Suminoe publishes a spring source at around 700 metres depth and a source temperature of 35.1°C. Those figures refer to the source information, not a promise that every pool is filled with untreated water. Compare the particular bath you want to use, not just the word “onsen.”
Nobeha’s outdoor area has a more varied, resort-like spread of pools; its roughly 32°C spring standing bath is the cooler option, with warmer spring tubs around 41°C and a separate carbonated bath. Spa Suminoe changes its outdoor setting between Forest and Bamboo Grove by week. One is not inherently better: decide whether you want a range of temperatures and several bathing areas, or a lower-priced visit with a changing garden atmosphere.
Both have a sauna included with admission. Nobeha also sells entry to a separate, mixed-gender heated lounge where visitors wear supplied clothes. Spa Suminoe has a loyly sauna but no equivalent lounge. Both close at 2 a.m. and stop bath entry at 1 a.m.; Nobeha opens an hour earlier, at 9 a.m. Check for event-day schedule changes before a late visit.
Families should compare rules before price. Nobeha has eleven reservable family-bath rooms, but its terms restrict these rooms to family members; an unmarried couple cannot assume the private bath is available. Spa Suminoe does not offer the same private-room product and does not admit children who are not yet toilet-trained to the baths. Both facilities prohibit tattoos under their current rules; cover stickers are not a reliable exception.
For a late soak, both remain open to 02:00, with last admission at 01:00. Nobeha opens one hour earlier in the morning. If you are deciding among several facilities rather than these two, start with the Osaka day-use onsen guide and choose by where you will already be.
For each facility’s full visitor details, see Nobeha no Yu Tsuruhashi and Spa Suminoe. The early- and late-night bathing guide compares other closing times; couples who need a private room should also check the private-bath planning guide before assuming a family bath can be booked by any pair.
