Spa World Osaka: Baths, Pool, Overnight Fees and Practical Rules

Check Spa World's bath and pool tickets, monthly bathing-zone switch, private family-bath rules and overnight surcharge before planning a visit in Osaka.

Spa World is easy to reach from the Osaka Metro Dobutsuen-mae Station and JR Shin-Imamiya Station. Inside, the European and Asian bathing zones occupy separate floors and switch between men and women by month. The complex also has a stone-sauna area, restaurants, rest areas, a hotel and a seasonal pool. It is closer to an indoor leisure centre than to a quick neighbourhood sento.

Start with the ticket you actually need

TicketAdultsChildren through elementary-school age
Baths only¥1,500¥1,000
Baths and pool, weekdays¥2,000¥1,200
Baths and pool, weekends and holidays¥2,700¥1,700
Stone-sauna add-on, weekdays¥800Not listed
Stone-sauna add-on, weekends, holidays and special dates¥1,000Not listed

Pool dates and prices vary by season; summer events and special days may use separate rates. The stone-sauna fee is separate from bath admission and includes lounge wear, a large towel and a carrying bag. A deposit system also applies. Children from elementary-school age may enter with a guardian.

Facility hoursOpensCloses / last entry
Public baths10 a.m.8:45 a.m. the next day; 7:45 a.m. on the monthly zone-change day
Stone-sauna area10 a.m.5 a.m. the next day; last entry 4 a.m.

The public baths close for cleaning each morning. The sauna’s later hours do not extend bath access.

The bath zones change sides each month

There are two themed areas: Europe on the fourth floor and Asia on the sixth. In even-numbered months, Europe is the men’s bath and Asia the women’s; in odd-numbered months, they switch. September 2026 is an odd-numbered month, so the official schedule assigns Asia to men and Europe to women. If you are visiting around the first of a month, check the changeover and cleaning time before planning an early-morning bath.

The spring analysis is for the source called Tennoji “World’s Hot Spring.” It lists a 38.9°C source temperature, pH 7.2 and a simple spring classification. That temperature is measured at the source, not a published set temperature for every themed tub.

The analysis page does not publish a current flow rate or full operating conditions for every pool. The complex has many themed and functional baths, but that does not mean every pool is filled directly from the source. Spa World completed a major bath-area renovation in November 2025, including sauna and selected themed-bath updates. Older walkthroughs may show a layout that has since changed; check current notices if one particular bath is the reason for your visit.

Private family baths have a specific eligibility rule

Spa World has two private family-bath rooms with a natural hot spring, sauna and cold bath.

The facility says the private baths are for family use under Osaka’s public-bath rules; same-sex groups are also permitted. An unmarried mixed-gender couple should not assume they qualify. Reservations are required, and arriving more than 15 minutes late can cancel the booking without a refund.

Osaka’s public-bath rules limit who can share the family rooms. Same-sex groups are also permitted; mixed-gender couples who are not family should confirm eligibility before booking. Reservations are required, and arriving more than 15 minutes late can cancel the booking without a refund. The rooms are for eligible family use, not a general-purpose date-night suite.

Plan for the overnight surcharge and no re-entry

Overnight charge or ruleAmount / time
Late-night surcharge¥1,300 for entry, exit or stays between midnight and 5 a.m.
Bathing tax¥150 per adult during that window
Bath-only visit plus late-night chargesAt least ¥2,950 per adult before extras
Standard exit deadline9 a.m.; later departure costs extra

Tattoos, tattoo stickers and similar marks are listed as grounds for refusing entry; the current rules do not give a cover-up exception. If this affects your plans, do not count on being admitted with a patch or clothing over the tattoo.

JR Shin-Imamiya StationUse the east exit; a short walk
Nankai Shin-Imamiya StationAbout 10 minutes on foot
Car park100 spaces; public transport is the simpler choice

Drivers can validate parking at the second-floor information counter. Facility users pay ¥300 for the first hour, then ¥150 for each additional 30 minutes.

For a smaller bathhouse and a much lower basic admission, see the Osaka sento guide. If you are weighing several large bathing complexes, start with the Osaka day-onsen comparison.

Compared with Solaniwa Onsen, Spa World is easier to reach from central transport, has a lower bath-only entry price and offers a seasonal pool and overnight option. Solaniwa centres more on its yukata, garden and half-day visit. Spa World is livelier; the trade-off is less quiet. Parking is paid, even with the facility discount.
