Nagahama Taiko Onsen Hamakogetsu
Hamakogetsu fits neatly into a stay near Nagahama Station or a visit to Kurokabe Square and Nagahama Castle, with a lake-view iron spring bath along the way. If bathing is the main reason for the trip, check first whether day visitors are being accepted.

- Water handling
- The operator's current onsen page confirms that iron-rich spring water from the Nagahama Castle ruins area is used in the public bath and Shigaraki-ware outdoor bath. Private baths can be booked for day use, but the current text does not confirm that they have the same supply conditions as the public bath, so no such assumption is made.
