Yuami no Shima at Nagashima Resort: When to Go and Which Ticket to Buy

Yuami no Shima works best when you decide first how long you want to stay and whether you are going to Nagashima Spa Land as well. A later entry can cut the bath ticket substantially, while the Meitetsu bus package bundles the bath with Spa Land admission. Neither deal is the same as a simple return-bus-and-onsen ticket, so check what you will actually use before paying.

The bath ticket gets cheaper later in the day

The September 2026 calendar lists these standalone admission prices:

Face and bath towels are lent with admission. Yukata are included before 3 p.m.; later arrivals can rent one for ¥300. Discounted evening tickets are sold at the gate, not online, and there is no re-entry after leaving.

Bathing starts at 10 a.m., but closing and last admission vary by date. On many September weekdays, the bath closes at 9 p.m. and stops admitting guests at 8 p.m.; many weekends and holidays run until 11 p.m., with last entry at 10 p.m. Use the month selector on the official calendar for your visit rather than treating September’s hours as a regular weekly schedule.

Which bundle matches your day?

The regular Yuami ticket includes admission to Nagashima Spa Land, though rides cost extra. If you are already inside Spa Land or the pool, you can add Yuami no Shima for ¥1,000 per adult, ¥600 for elementary-school children and ¥400 for children aged two and up. This add-on costs the same at any hour; it is not replaced by the late-entry bath discount.

The Meitetsu Bus “Yuami no Shima Pack” bundles Nagoya return bus fare, Spa Land admission and bath entry; rides are not included. For an adult, the comparison is:

The pack saves ¥250 for that specific itinerary. It costs ¥2,700 for children and is sold on the day at the Meitetsu Bus Center counter. Attraction tickets are valid that day; the bus return ticket is valid for two days.

If you mainly want a short evening soak, compare the on-site bath discount with the bundle before deciding. The pack is not automatically the cheapest option for a late visit, and its extra Spa Land admission only helps if you plan to use it.

The highway bus does not take reservations and has seated capacity only. A full departure means waiting for the next bus, while traffic or weather can disrupt a tightly timed return. Nagashima Resort says the journey from Nagoya takes about 50 minutes when roads allow; get off at the Nagashima Onsen terminal, not Nagashima Kaigan.

If you drive, the main resort car park is ¥1,000 for the day, payable in cash, with a free shuttle to the bath. About 100 spaces by the bath entrance become available after 3 p.m., but may be unavailable during fireworks or special events.

On eligible weekdays from September 1 to November 30, 2026, the resort is also listing a bath-and-meal set for ¥3,400, or ¥3,600 with the bedrock bath. Buy by 5 p.m.; food orders end at 7 p.m. The offer excludes weekends, public holidays and special periods, so check the live terms before building a meal around it.

A large bath complex, with spring flow in selected tubs

Yuami no Shima spans about 33,000 square metres and lists 17 types of bath across its men’s and women’s areas. The outdoor areas are designed around the Kurobe Gorge and Oirase Stream, with large rocks, trees and a constructed stream; that landscape is a bigger part of the appeal than a simple list of tubs.

The facility marks Takitsubo-no-yu and Oiwa-no-yu as 100% source-flow baths; that description does not apply to every tub. The published spring summary—about 60°C at the source, pH 8.5 and roughly 10,000 tonnes a day—is facility-level information, not the temperature or water treatment of each individual bath.

The family bath is not a private option for a couple: it is limited to families of three to six. Two rooms are listed at ¥3,000 for 45 minutes, plus admission for each person; the session cannot be extended. Reservations open by phone on the first day of the preceding month, and the service pauses in mid-to-late January and June. Confirm current availability before planning around it.
