Nara Health Land: Prices, Overnight Fees and What Stays Open

Nara Health Land’s ¥2,200 adult ticket includes towels, indoor wear and baths; the 24-hour building does not keep every bath open overnight.

In Tenri, Nara Health Land is a large bathing and leisure complex rather than a quick stop beside a sightseeing district. For a short soak, compare the cheaper options in the Nara day-use onsen guide.

Admission periodAdult priceTerms
Standard¥2,200Regular adult admission
Twilight offer¥1,300Enter 7 p.m.–midnight, August 24–December 25, 2026
Silver Week, September 19–23, 2026¥2,750Special-period rate; the Twilight offer does not apply
Overnight surcharge¥1,650Added for a stay between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.

The evening offer is listed through December 25, 2026; the operator may change it. A standard adult overnight visit totals ¥3,850 before food or optional facilities. With Twilight admission, the total is ¥2,950 before extras.

What the standard ticket covers

VisitorStandard admission
Adult¥2,200
Student¥1,320, with student ID
Age 60 and over¥1,320, with ID
Ages 3 through elementary school¥880

Admission includes face and bath towels, indoor clothing, the public baths, open-air baths, rest areas and the kids’ room. Basic toiletries such as body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and skincare products are also listed. This makes arriving without your own towel straightforward, though it does not cover every paid attraction.

The operator lists a separate sauna-and-bedrock-bath area for ¥330 per person aged 13 or over. The indoor leisure pool and the Hasya Kids play area also have separate fees and their own schedules. Check the live facility calendar if those are the reason for your visit; their presence on the site does not mean they are open every day.

The building is open around the clock; bath access has a break

The complex operates 24 hours, but the public baths have cleaning periods. The women’s bath is open from 6 a.m. until 3:30 a.m. the following day, then closed until 6 a.m. Cleaning preparation starts at 2:30 a.m., when some tubs and the Yamato sauna stop operating. On the men’s side, some facilities also close for cleaning even when the bath area remains accessible.

The natural spring is used in the outdoor rock bath. The operator identifies it as Yamato Onsen, a sodium-chloride spring drawn from about 800 metres underground. Its published source temperature is 35.3°C; after heating, the designated outdoor bath is about 41°C. The water is heated and circulated through filtration. Those figures describe this spring and bath, not every tub in the building.

The public bath also has carbonated, cypress, silky and other feature baths, plus the Yamato sauna. The sauna was refreshed in February 2026: the operator lists a room temperature of about 80°C and automatic loyly and air blasts at :00 and :30, from 6:30 a.m. through 2 a.m. It closes for cleaning preparation at 2:30 a.m. This sauna is part of the public bath; the separately priced sauna area is a different facility.

Families, pool days and tattoo rules

The indoor pool is seasonal. The published September 2026 schedule and add-on prices are:

Facility or periodHoursAdditional charge
Pool on September weekends and public holidays10 a.m.–6 p.m.¥770 on an ordinary open day
Pool, September 19–239 a.m.–6 p.m.¥1,200 for guests aged 3 and over
Hasya Kids, ordinary period—¥770 per person
Hasya Kids, September 19–23—¥1,100 per person

These charges are on top of main admission. Check the notice for your date. The kids’ room is included in the standard ticket.

The tattoo policy is conditional, not unrestricted. The operator generally refuses entry to guests with tattoos, including imitation tattoos. It allows entry if tattoos are completely covered: use its cover seals in the public bath, sauna and other indoor areas; a rash guard or similar full coverage is required in the pool. The facility sells cover seals at reception and in its shop.

Getting there

There are about 800 free parking spaces. Without a car, the nearest walk is from Kintetsu Nikaidō Station, roughly 15 minutes away. Free scheduled shuttles also run from JR Kōriyama and Kintetsu Hira-hata stations. Do not rely on older guides that mention a Tenri Station shuttle: the operator’s current access page should be checked for the day’s service and any changes.

For visitors based around Nara Park, this is not a walkable after-sightseeing bath. Include the transfer to Tenri and the return trip in your schedule. A shorter visit may be easier at a city-side facility such as Yurara no Yu Nara.

Is it a good fit?

Nara Health Land makes sense if you will use the towels, indoor wear, rest area, several baths or family facilities over a long visit. It is also one of the few options in the area for a late arrival, provided you have accounted for the nighttime fee and cleaning hours.

If all you want is a one-hour soak, the ¥2,200 standard ticket is hard to justify. A smaller day bath will cost less; the price here pays for the length of the visit and the facilities around the bath, not a claim that every pool uses natural spring water.

Cleaning and upkeep

The facility publishes cleaning periods for the public baths and completed major maintenance in February 2026, including an update to the Yamato sauna. Those are useful signs of active upkeep, though they do not mean the busy complex will be quiet.
