Senami Onsen Day Baths: Iwafune or Yumoto Ryusen?

Compare Iwafune’s sea-view bath and staircase with Yumoto Ryusen’s larger spa and family facilities; check each admission calendar.

Senami Onsen is known for its coast and sunsets, but these two day-use baths offer different ways to enjoy it. Iwafune concentrates on a single view-led soak. Ryusen is designed for a longer stay, with indoor and outdoor baths, a waterfall bath, a bubble bath, food and rest areas. The ¥100 adult price difference is small; the real choice is how much of the day you want to spend inside.

Iwafune is about the view and the soak

Iwafune’s current site lists ¥800 for adults and ¥400 for children, with bathing from 10 am to 10 pm and last entry at 9 pm. The inn describes its bath as completely flow-through. The bath sits on the highest floor of the property, above the coast, and the long staircase is an important access limitation. The facility itself advises that the climb may not suit guests who find stairs difficult.

The admission calendar is updated separately, so check it for your date instead of assuming the bath will be open simply because the published hours look broad. Iwafune is a good fit for a shorter visit centered on a sea-facing bath; it is not the choice for a full spa day.

Ryusen makes a longer stop easier

Ryusen’s complex has indoor and outdoor bathing, waterfall and bubble baths, a reservable family bath, a free rest room, a restaurant and a shop.

The spring emerges at about 94°C, and the operator says it adds water before supplying it to the baths. That is useful context, but it is not a tub-temperature figure. The official site also lists a tattoo admission restriction, so check its current rules before planning a visit if this applies to you.

The September closure has passed; still check notices

Ryusen’s spring-well cleaning closure ran September 7–9, 2026; those dates have passed. Regular hours do not rule out later maintenance or holiday closures, so check the operator’s notices before travelling.

For sunset inside the bath, Iwafune’s elevated coastal setting is the more direct match, but the long stairs matter. Ryusen makes more sense for families or anyone who wants several bath styles and a longer rest. See the Iwafune admission calendar and Ryusen’s current notices.
