Inari Onsen in Osaka Port: Sunday Hours, Baths and Access
Inari Onsen is a neighborhood sento in Osaka Port with soft water and a chili-ginger bath. Sunday opening is 9 a.m.; check sauna status before visiting.
Inari Onsen is a traditional neighborhood bathhouse in Yahataya, Osaka Port. It suits a Sunday morning stop if you are already staying nearby or heading toward the bay. One detail matters before you set out: the current Sunday opening is 9 a.m., not the 7 a.m. still shown on an older association listing.
Sunday opens at 9 a.m.—despite an older 7 a.m. listing
A dated notice published on May 17, 2025 says the Sunday morning opening changed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. from May 25 onward. The Osaka public bathhouse association’s individual facility page was updated earlier that month and still lists 7 a.m. For a 2026 visit, plan around 9 a.m.; if you are making a special early trip, call the bathhouse to confirm that day’s hours.
On Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays, the listed hours are 2–11 p.m. Friday is the regular closing day. Sunday hours are 9 a.m.–11 p.m. The address is 3-12-21 Yahataya, Minato-ku, Osaka. From Asashio-bashi Station on the Chuo subway line, allow about 13 minutes on foot. It is not right outside the station, so rain, luggage or small children can make that walk feel longer.
What you get for the standard sento fare
Osaka’s 2026 public-bath rate is ¥600 for adults, ¥200 for elementary-school children and ¥100 for younger children. Inari is an ordinary sento with soft water, rather than a verified natural hot spring. The name, soft water and medicinal bath are not evidence of a natural spring source.
The best-known feature is the outdoor “Fire Dragon Bath,” a medicinal bath described as a chili-and-ginger blend. Facility listings also mention a radon steam room, cold bath and outdoor bathing area. Sauna directories give snapshot temperatures of around 45°C for the steam room and 15–16°C for the cold bath; those readings are not guaranteed settings.
The dry sauna needs a separate caveat. A user report dated December 13, 2025 said the men’s Bona dry sauna was out of service, and the sauna directory still marked repairs as unresolved in the latest available information. No newer repair notice was found by September 7, 2026. Call ahead if a working dry sauna is central to your visit. Tattoo rules are not clearly published, so ask the bathhouse directly if you need to know before going.
How to fit it into a Sunday in Osaka Port
Inari works best as a first stop when your morning is already based in Yahataya or the Osaka Port area. After bathing, you can head toward Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and Tempozan or continue into central Osaka; just leave enough time to dry off, change and walk back to the station. On a cold morning, dry your hair before setting out on foot.
If you want an earlier opening and a documented natural spring, compare Terume Ryugu. It opens at 8 a.m. on Sundays and has evidence for a natural spring from about 1,500 metres underground, including an open-air bath with free-flowing source water. Inari’s appeal is different: a local bathhouse, the standard sento price and its distinctive medicinal bath. The wider Konohana and Minato sento guide covers more nearby choices, while the Osaka early-morning and late-night bathing guide helps compare opening times around the city.
A quick editorial snapshot
These are subjective guide ratings, not official facility scores.
| Category | Score |
|---|---|
| Bathing comfort | 85/100 |
| Bath variety | 70/100 |
| Upkeep impression | 65/100 |
| Atmosphere | 60/100 |
| Quiet | 60/100 |
| Access | 70/100 |
| Value | 95/100 |
The strong value score reflects the public-bath fare and local-bath experience. The station walk is a real part of the outing, and the uncertain dry sauna affects how much variety visitors can count on.
