Daifukuyu near Nishikujo: A Three-Minute Bath Stop after USJ

Three minutes from Nishikujo Station, Daifukuyu makes an easy USJ return stop. It opens 2:30–11:30 p.m. and closes Wednesdays.

Bath facilities at Daifukuyu

Daifukuyu in Konohana Ward, Osaka

After a full day at Universal Studios Japan, the useful question is often how much extra travel a bath will add. Daifukuyu is about three minutes on foot from Nishikujo Station, where the JR Osaka Loop Line and Hanshin Namba Line meet. It can fit the return journey without detouring to a large spa elsewhere in the city.

The bathhouse lists hours of 2:30–11:30 p.m. and closes every Wednesday. It does not publish a last-entry time. If the park closes late or you expect a long wait for transport, keep the bath optional rather than planning a full sauna circuit just before closing.

What ¥600 gets you—and where the sauna differs

Adult admission at Osaka association-member sento is currently ¥600. Daifukuyu lists a dry sauna in the men’s bath and a steam sauna in the women’s bath, along with a cold bath, carbonated bath, electric bath, jet bath and reclining bath. A current sauna surcharge is not published by the association, so confirm it at the counter.

The two bathing areas have different sauna types, which matters for couples or friends hoping to use the same kind of sauna. The directory also lists automatic doors, handrails, a baby bed and a bright, spacious bathing area. These features do not confirm step-free access throughout or staff assistance; ask ahead if either is essential.

The carbonated bath is a bath feature, not evidence of a natural carbon-dioxide spring. The association page does not publish a spring analysis for Daifukuyu.

Keep the detour proportional

From Universal City, ride the JR Yumesaki Line back to Nishikujo, then walk to the bath. After bathing, return to the station to continue on the Loop Line or Hanshin Namba Line. That makes most sense if your hotel is on one of those routes or in the Nishikujo area; it is less compelling if you would need to cross town again afterward.

For a broader comparison of nearby neighbourhood baths, see the Konohana and Minato sento guide. If you want a sento-priced natural spring elsewhere in Osaka, the Terume Ryugu guide explains which of its baths are documented as free-flowing; the Osaka day-onsen guide compares a wider range of facilities.

A few details that matter on the night

Cost itemAmountWhat is confirmed
Adult admission¥600Current Osaka association rate
Elementary-school child¥200Current Osaka association rate
Younger child¥100Current Osaka association rate
Sauna surchargeUnconfirmed; recent visitor reports mention about ¥230Ask at the counter; this is not an official current price

If sauna is your main reason for visiting, carrying around ¥1,000 leaves room for a towel, locker-related purchase or drink.

Recent readings put the cold bath around 16–18°C, but this varies by season and operating conditions; only the presence of a cold bath is confirmed. The carbonated bath is a feature, not proof of a naturally carbonated spring.

Daifukuyu has automatic doors, handrails, a baby bed and accessibility features listed by the association. That does not guarantee a fully step-free route or assisted bathing, so contact the facility if you need specific access arrangements. The listing shows paid parking, but publishes no dependable stall count or free dedicated spaces.

The nearby alternatives serve different plans: Baika Onsen near Chidoribashi stays open until midnight and has an outdoor bath, while Chidori Onsen closes earlier but lists a free dry sauna. If you are already changing trains at Nishikujo after USJ, Daifukuyu usually wins on the small detour. Aim to arrive by about 10 p.m. for a relaxed visit; after 10:30, keep it to a shorter bath, and skip it on Wednesdays.

The Baika Onsen guide and Chidori Onsen guide cover those two alternatives in detail; the Konohana and Minato sento roundup is useful if you are choosing by neighbourhood instead of by USJ transfer.
