Yudokoro Abenobashi: A Natural-Spring Sento by Tennoji
Near Tennoji, this sento serves natural spring water delivered daily and has an optional dry sauna. Plan a 60–120-minute visit; it is not open in the morning.
The natural water here arrives by truck each day from Terume Ryugu in Osaka’s Minato Ward. It is used in one of the large main tubs; the other is a plain-water bath. That makes Yudokoro Abenobashi a particularly accessible way to soak in a documented natural spring while staying in central Tennoji, though it is still a local sento rather than a resort-style spa.
The spring is identified as Ryugu Onsen No. 1, drawn from a depth of 1,500 metres and measured at 44.7°C at the source. The listed bath temperature is 40–42°C. Those figures describe the spring and its designated tub, not every bath in the building. Steam and dry saunas, a cold bath and jet features are also available.
The source is classified as a simple spring: low in dissolved minerals, weakly alkaline and hot at source. That classification applies to the designated main tub only, not to the cold bath, saunas or other functional pools.
What admission covers
Basic adult admission is ¥600 (about HK$30 / NT$122). The dry sauna costs extra and includes a rental bath towel; the steam sauna is listed, but no separate price is published. Bath towels and toiletries are also sold or rented separately.
The bathhouse is open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with last admission at 10:30 p.m. It closes Thursdays and on the third Wednesday of each month. A late arrival near last entry leaves little time for the sauna and changing, so this works better as a planned stop after Tennoji sightseeing or dinner than as a last-minute option.
Current child admission and the multi-visit sauna ticket are:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult admission | ¥600 |
| Dry sauna add-on, with bath towel | ¥300 |
| Junior-high-school student admission | ¥400 |
| Elementary-school student admission | ¥200 |
| Younger child admission | ¥100 |
| 12-visit dry-sauna ticket | ¥3,000 |
| Bath-towel rental / hand towel | ¥150 / ¥50 |
The regular bath ticket does not include towels or toiletries. An adult arriving without a bathing kit should allow about ¥920 for bathing, a towel and basic toiletries, or about ¥1,070 with the sauna add-on. These are itemized estimates, not set prices.
Getting there from Tennoji
The bathhouse is close to Abeno Harukas and Abeno Q’s Mall. Allow about five minutes on foot from Tennoji or Abenobashi Station; the association’s listing gives a shorter estimate for Tennoji, so the exact walk depends on your exit and route. For most visitors, it is an easy detour from the station area rather than a separate cross-city trip.
There is a small dedicated car park, but spaces and the free-parking allowance are limited. The operator lists five spaces and 60 minutes free, with extensions tied to the number of adult bathers and a 90-minute cap. Longer sauna visits may outlast the free period. The subway or train is simpler if you are planning to stay for a couple of hours.
The parking extension is ten minutes per adult bath user, up to a total of 90 minutes free; after that, the listed charge is ¥100 per ten minutes. Two adults planning a longer sauna visit should not assume the entire stop will fit within free parking. Use a paid lot nearby if you want to take your time.
Yudokoro Abenobashi does not list a bookable private bath or a large rest area for an extended stay. Tattoo admission rules are not stated in the cited pages. Anyone for whom either detail is essential should check with the bathhouse before heading over.
Is it the right kind of onsen stop?
This is a good match when Tennoji is already on the day’s route and you want a real natural-spring bath at ordinary public-bath pricing. Add the dry sauna for a longer visit; keep the plan simple if all you need is the spring bath and a shower.
Look elsewhere if the plan calls for a morning soak, a private tub for two, a garden-style outdoor bath or a place to spend half a day. The Osaka day-onsen overview compares larger facilities around the city; Yudokoro Abenobashi is the quick urban bathhouse choice.
After sightseeing, allow 60–90 minutes for the spring bath, or about 90–120 minutes if you plan to use the dry sauna. If you are staying near Shin-Imamiya and want a pool, stone sauna or several hours inside a complex, Spa World is a different, more expensive option. Yudokoro Abenobashi has no general day-use private bath or long-stay lounge.
