Sakuraya Day Bath in Yahiko: A Station-Side Ryokan Soak
Plan a stop at Kappo-no-Yado Sakuraya by Yahiko Station: day-bath hours, ¥1,000 admission, towel details and the separate bookable family bath.
Sakuraya makes sense when you have a short gap around Yahiko Station and want a ryokan bath rather than a full afternoon at a large spa. The ordinary day-use window is brief, but the station is right outside and the inn offers a private family bath by reservation.
Day-use hours, admission and towels
| Day-bath detail | Current listing |
|---|---|
| Hours | 10 a.m.–3 p.m.; no fixed closing day |
| Admission | ¥1,000 adults; ¥500 children aged three through elementary school |
| Towels | Bath towel included; face towel ¥100 |
| Busy accommodation days | Guests may be asked to leave by 3 p.m. |
This is an inn’s public bath, not an all-day spa. If you are arriving close to 3pm, call first rather than treating the listed closing time as a guaranteed last-entry time. The inn’s schedule can also be affected by its overnight guests.
The private family bath is a separate booking
| Family-bath detail | Current listing |
|---|---|
| Rooms | Ichino-yu and Nino-yu |
| Session | 50 minutes; ¥1,500 |
| Booking starts | On the hour, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; reservation required |
| Admission | Separate from the private-bath fee; ask the inn for the total if using only the private room |
The private bath uses Yahiko Yunojinja Onsen. Sakuraya lists the spring as alkaline simple hot spring, with a source temperature of 47.9°C and flow of 570 litres per minute. Those are source details, not the temperature or flow delivered to each tub. The ordinary guest-room unit baths are not hot spring water.
For families, the inn says it can provide a child’s bath chair and baby soap. Tattoo rules are not clearly stated for either the public or private bath on the current pages, so ask directly before booking if that affects your visit.
Easiest access in Yahiko
Sakuraya is roughly a one-minute walk from JR Yahiko Station. That makes it easy to pair with the shrine, the station-area shops or a train connection without arranging a taxi. Its day-use period ends at 3pm, however, so it is better suited to a midday stop than an evening soak.
If you would rather spend several hours at a larger facility—with a sauna, stone sauna and later closing time—read the Sakura-no-Yu guide. The comparison of Sakura-no-Yu and Sakuraya covers timing, transport and cost.
