Jabujabuland in Osaka’s Konohana Ward: A Late-Closing Sento with Two Saunas

Naniwa Onsen Jabujabuland closes at midnight and has dry and steam saunas, carbonated bathing and five parking spaces. See fares and the route from USJ.

Naniwa Onsen Jabujabuland is a neighborhood sento with more variety than its modest price suggests: dry and steam saunas, a carbonated bath, an outdoor bath and several massage-style tubs. It stays open until midnight and has five free parking spaces. The catch for USJ visitors is location: this is in residential Kasugade, not next to Universal City Station or the park gates.

The Osaka Public Bath Association still describes it as a “mini super-sento,” and Osaka City’s FY2026 list includes it as an operating public bath. Its main draw is the fuller facility lineup at ordinary sento prices, rather than a natural-spring resort experience.

Hours and admission

Jabujabuland closes on Thursdays. Its listed hours and admission are below; there is no published last-entry time.

The association confirms that both saunas are available but does not publish the current surcharge. Visitor reports from May and June 2026 mention an extra charge; that is a recent indication, not a fixed tariff. Confirm the amount at reception and bring extra cash if you need a towel.

EntryPlanning price
Adult bath¥600
Elementary-school child¥200
Younger child¥100
Adult bath plus saunaRecent reports around ¥750; verify at the desk
Suggested cash for sauna and small extras¥800–¥1,000

The bath is listed as open 2 p.m.–midnight. For a sauna visit, allow time to wash and change before closing; check holiday and maintenance notices.

Two saunas, a cold bath and room to slow down

The association lists a dry sauna and a steam sauna. Recent user-maintained listings show the men’s dry sauna around 100°C and the women’s around 90°C, with cold-bath readings around 17–18°C. These vary by visit and are not guaranteed settings. The steam room is confirmed, but no current fixed temperature is published.

Jabujabuland’s cold bath, outdoor space and rock bath make a straightforward sauna circuit possible: choose one sauna, cool off and rest outside. The outdoor area is not a dramatic skyline or landscaped resort garden; the value is having somewhere to catch your breath between baths in a local sento.

There is plenty to do if you are not using the sauna. The list includes a carbonated bath, electric bath, jets or ultrasonic bath, reclining bath and rock bath. A companion can take a slower soak while you use the sauna. The front lounge has drinks and simple food, plus massage chairs and a baby bed; coin laundry is next door. It is useful for a short post-park stop, but it is not an overnight lounge or a place to spend hours asleep.

The carbonated bath is one of the more distinctive features, but the operator does not identify it as a natural carbon dioxide spring. No current source name, spring analysis, pH, flow rate, source temperature or natural CO₂ concentration is published. “Carbonated bath” describes the facility, not the legal spring classification, and “Onsen” in the name is not evidence of natural spring water.

Getting here after USJ

The address is 3-9-27 Kasugade-kita, Konohana Ward. From JR Ajikawaguchi Station the association gives an 18-minute walk; Hanshin Chidoribashi is about 20 minutes away. The Nishikasugade Osaka City bus stop is roughly a five-minute walk. If you are staying around Kasugade or the residential area between Ajikawaguchi and Chidoribashi, this is manageable on foot or by bus. From Universal City itself, check the onward connection and remaining time first—“in Konohana Ward” does not mean “beside USJ.”

There are five free parking spaces. That is a useful advantage for families or guests driving between a bay-area hotel and USJ, but the lot is still small. Have a paid-parking backup for a busy evening.

Jabujabuland, Baika Onsen or Hinata no Yu?

Baika Onsen also stays open until midnight. It is more convenient if you are already near Chidoribashi and want a shorter walk, a radon steam bath and an outdoor bath. Jabujabuland is the stronger pick when dry and steam saunas together, its carbonated bath, rock bath and five parking spaces matter more.

Hinata no Yu Osaka Universal Bayside is a different kind of visit: a larger modern day spa with documented natural hot-spring water and a high-floor outdoor bath. Jabujabuland is the lower-cost local bath for a wash, soak and sauna after a long day; Hinata no Yu fits someone who specifically wants the natural spring, view and broader spa facilities.

Jabujabuland makes most sense if your hotel is in the area, you are driving, or you still have time after USJ to use more than one facility. If you are sleeping in Osaka Station, Namba or Shinsaibashi and have no other reason to visit Konohana, a closer bath is probably a better use of the evening.
