New Kiyotaki Onsen in Ikuno: Weekend Morning Baths and Late-Night Hours

New Kiyotaki Onsen in Ikuno opens at 6 a.m. on weekends and until 1 a.m. on open days. It is about a 15-minute walk from Momodani Station.

The early opening is limited to weekends. On weekdays, New Kiyotaki Onsen opens at 2 p.m.; on Saturdays and Sundays it opens at 6 a.m. Every open day runs until 1 a.m., and Tuesday is the regular closing day. That makes it a flexible local bath for both a weekend start and a late return, but not an everyday morning option.

A morning stop if you are already in eastern Ikuno

The address is 5-14-18 Katsuyamakita. The Osaka Public Bathhouse Association gives a walking time of about 15 minutes from JR Momodani Station, so build that into an early start rather than assuming the bath is beside the platform. Four free parking spaces are listed.

For a Sunday morning visit, arriving soon after 6 a.m. leaves time for a bath before shops and attractions open. On weekdays, plan for an afternoon or evening visit instead. The late closing is 1 a.m.; it is not permission to stay overnight.

Bathing and sauna

The association lists a dry sauna, cold bath, outdoor bath, electric bath, medicinal bath, radon-labelled bath, jet bath, reclining bath and standing shower. The facility describes its medicinal bath as using natural herbs. That is a herbal bath, not evidence of a legally classified natural hot spring: the current listing describes the main bath water as heated with electricity and does not provide a spring analysis.

The association confirms a dry sauna but does not state whether it carries an extra charge. Osaka’s current standard adult sento admission is ¥600; ask at the counter about the sauna before paying rather than relying on a price from an older visitor record.

The Osaka bathhouse association’s standard fares are ¥600 for adults, ¥200 for elementary-school children and ¥100 for younger children. A sauna-specialist listing currently shows the dry sauna as included in the bath ticket, though the association does not spell out the surcharge policy; confirm at the desk. The cold bath is described as notably cold and has a waterfall-style water feature, but there is no fixed published temperature.

The medicinal bath uses herbs, according to the facility; it is an herbal bath rather than a natural hot spring. New Kiyotaki also has electric, jet, sitting and reclining baths, so the visit is not only for sauna users. Sunday mornings can draw more people because the 6 a.m. opening is unusual.

For the earliest soak in Ikuno, New Kiyotaki is the 6 a.m. option. Momodani Onsen opens later but is a short walk from Momodani Station. Yagara Onsen opens at 8 a.m. Sunday, nearer Kita-Tatsumi Station, with a different mix of baths.

The bathhouse is listed as a runner-friendly sento, with a bus stop around five minutes away and four free parking spaces. Tattoo rules are not clearly stated in the current sources, so ask before visiting if that is a requirement.

Four spaces are available for cars. If you arrive when they are full, allow time to find another option; the association page does not promise overflow parking. The bath is better suited to people staying around Momodani, Katsuyamakita or eastern Ikuno than to travellers trying to squeeze in a quick soak between central Osaka sights.

If you need a weekend morning bath elsewhere in the ward, the Ikuno weekend morning sento guide compares other options. The broader Ikuno sento guide helps with location and facility choices.

For a station-front late bath, compare Momodani Onsen; for a later Sunday morning around Kita-Tatsumi, see Yagara Onsen. Sauna-focused travellers may also want the Megane Onsen guide.
