After USJ: Kamigata Onsen Ikkyu or Hinata no Yu?

Compare Ikkyu and Hinata no Yu after USJ by evening admission, shuttle or train access, sauna, tattoo rules and last entry before midnight.

Kamigata Onsen Ikkyu is the lower-cost option after USJ, with a free shuttle serving Universal City hotels. Hinata no Yu Universal Bayside is easier if you would rather take one train stop to Ajikawaguchi and walk. The choice is less about which bath has more features than whether you want to wait for a bus after a long park day.

What each costs after 5 p.m.

Facility / itemWeekdayWeekend / public holiday
Kamigata Onsen Ikkyu, adult admission¥750¥850
Hinata no Yu, adult evening rate from 5 p.m.¥1,100¥1,400
Hinata no Yu, towel-set rental¥300¥300

Hinata provides shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Ikkyu does not provide towels, so bring your own or budget for a rental or purchase at the counter.

Both facilities are open until midnight and stop admitting bathers at 11 p.m. Ikkyu closes on the third Tuesday of each month, though the date can shift when it falls on a holiday. Check the venue’s notice before choosing that day.

Ikkyu: cheaper, with a bus decision to make

Ikkyu is in Torishima, west of the park. From Universal City hotels, its official shuttle has three evening pickup times—about 7:25, 8:40 and 9:55 p.m.—and a final departure from the bathhouse at 11:05 p.m. The bus is open to non-hotel guests, but it can leave once full and may be delayed or cancelled for traffic or vehicle issues. Its timetable can change, so check it again on the day.

There is also Osaka City Bus route 59 to Torishima 5-chome, about a two-minute walk from the facility. Ikkyu describes its baths as 100% natural hot spring water, with two alternating areas, “Wood Bath” and “Stone Bath.” Which one serves each gender changes on odd and even dates. Tattooing, including paint or tattoo stickers, is prohibited. The venue also has a restaurant and indoor rest areas, so you can spend more of the evening there than at a quick neighborhood bath.

Hinata: less shuttle coordination, a later price tier

From Universal City Station, take the Yumesaki Line to Ajikawaguchi and walk about five minutes. Hinata’s 14th-floor setting pairs natural hot-spring baths with an outdoor city view, a far-infrared sauna and a cold bath. It is a straightforward choice if you want to leave when you are ready instead of building the evening around a shuttle departure.

At 5 p.m. the admission price steps up, so the weekday difference from Ikkyu is ¥350 and the weekend/holiday difference is ¥550. The price gap may matter less than losing time between park exit and the next shuttle. Hinata’s tattoo policy is conditional: the venue sells designated cover seals, and every visible tattoo must be fully covered.

Check the return trip before choosing

Choose Ikkyu if the shuttle timing fits your park exit and the lower price matters. Choose Hinata if you are staying near Ajikawaguchi or would rather make the train-and-walk route on your own schedule. Neither bath is a guaranteed post-park stop if you cannot arrive before 11 p.m.

If you choose Hinata, the Universal Bayside branch guide covers the station walk, last reception and luggage. For a broader comparison around Osaka, see the day-use hot-spring guide.
