Togura-Kamiyamada Public Baths: Opening Times and Early Soaks

Compare seven public baths in Togura-Kamiyamada by current admission, opening hours and the details that matter for an early soak, sauna or family visit.

The seven baths sit across the Togura-Kamiyamada hot-spring area in Chikuma City. You can collect stamps at all seven, but there is little reason to rush through them in one day. Choose by opening time, facilities and how long you want to stay; the admission prices are low enough that paying a little more for the right setup can be the better deal.

Seven baths, seven different reasons to go

The table follows the Chikuma tourism bureau’s visitor information, updated July 23, 2026. Check the facility’s own notice before setting out, especially around holidays or maintenance days.

BathAdult admissionPosted hoursBest reason to choose it
Yuno-hana Sento Zuisyo¥800; ¥900 after 10 p.m.9 a.m.–1 a.m.; weekends and holidays from 6 a.m.Sauna, several baths, meals and a late close
Tsurunoyu¥4009 a.m.–9 p.m.The tourism bureau describes it as an accessible community bath; ask about your specific access needs
Kamenoyu¥400 for non-residents10 a.m.–11 p.m.; last entry 10:30 p.m.A traditional public bath with indoor, outdoor and ceramic tubs
Hakuchoen¥7009:30 a.m.–9 p.m.; last entry 8:30 p.m.Sauna, restaurant and space for a longer family visit
Tokura Kokumin Onsen¥3808:30 a.m.–10 p.m.A simple, low-cost neighbourhood bath
Manyo Onsen¥4804 a.m.–11 p.m.; last entry 10:30 p.m.The earliest opening in the area
Tokura Kanze Onsen¥3004:30 a.m.–11 p.m.The lowest listed adult price and an early start

Zuisyo adds ¥100 to the adult admission after 10 p.m.

Its weekend and holiday morning rate is ¥650 for entry between 6 and 9 a.m.; guests can stay after 9.

Kamenoyu’s lower resident rate is not the visitor price shown above. Hours and monthly closing days vary, so check the schedule before setting out.

Pick by the part of the day you have

For a very early bath, choose between Manyo and Kanze. Manyo opens half an hour earlier and has the broader visitor setup; Kanze is the budget option at ¥300. Both close at 11 p.m. The tourism bureau lists Manyo’s regular closure on the fourth Monday of each month, moving to Tuesday when that Monday is a holiday. Kanze’s listed monthly closure is the first and third Monday.

Zuisyo is the easier choice when the bath is the main event rather than a quick stop. Its operator lists eight bathing experiences, two spring sources for the main indoor and outdoor baths, a sauna, rest facilities and food service. The operator also distinguishes the main pools from a few smaller outdoor tubs that use recirculation and filtration. “The baths use hot-spring water” does not mean every tub follows the same water-treatment setup.

For children or a longer break, Hakuchoen is more than a bath. Its current site lists a restaurant, sauna and children’s spaces alongside the baths. That makes it easier to spend a few hours there than at a small local sento-style facility, though the ¥700 admission is the highest of the seven.

Don’t assume the seven are a short walk apart

The circuit links seven facilities across the area; it is not one building with seven pools. If you plan to visit more than one, check each address and transport leg before leaving. The tourism bureau’s stamp rally is a way to visit over time, not a suggestion to soak seven times back-to-back. A two-stop day with a proper break is more practical.

Tsurunoyu is the bureau’s accessibility-oriented pick, but “barrier-free” is not a substitute for checking details such as step-free entry, locker layout or handrails. Call ahead if those features are essential. For a broader comparison of day-use baths elsewhere in Nagano, see the Bessho Onsen day-trip guide.
