Yu City Kamata: Black Spring Water, Sauna and an Easy Stop from Kamata Station

Visit Yu City Kamata for a natural black-water spring, sauna and upstairs YCK Hall. It is a five-minute walk from Kamata Station and closes Tuesdays.

Kamata has several black-water bathhouses, but Yu City has a particularly practical mix: natural spring water, a sauna, a semi-open-air bath and a place upstairs to eat or unwind after bathing. The entry fee remains in the sento range rather than the price of a full-scale spa, making it easy to add to an afternoon or evening around Kamata.

Bathing facilities at Yu City Kamata

Black water in the semi-open-air bath

Yu City draws its natural black spring from roughly 120 metres underground. The spring bath is in a semi-open-air setting, with additional indoor baths and a sauna. The facility describes the water as natural onsen, though its current site materials do not provide a complete analysis sheet with a source temperature or mineral profile. Older third-party numbers should not be treated as a current spring analysis.

The adult standard bathing fee is ¥600. The current combination prices are especially useful if you are travelling light: a bath-and-sauna ticket is ¥900, while a sauna package with rental towels is ¥980. A basic towel set is also available for ¥250. Prices can change, so check the bathhouse’s latest notice before a special trip.

Stay for YCK Hall—or head back out

YCK Hall is the bathhouse’s upstairs post-bath space. It serves food and drinks and hosts occasional stage events; karaoke is also part of the room’s use. It is a different kind of finish from a quiet lounge, so check the event schedule if you would rather relax without a performance happening.

JR Kamata Station’s east exit is about a five-minute walk. Opening hours are 11 a.m.–midnight, with Tuesday as the regular closing day. If you are also comparing nearby natural baths, the Kamata black-water guide looks at other options in the neighborhood.
