Hinoya Ryokan and Shichimensan Onsen: The Spring Is Currently Out of Service
Hinoya Ryokan reports a hot-spring pipe fault; call to confirm bathing water, day-use access and rates before travelling to Shichimensan.
Checked: September 27, 2026
Hinoya Ryokan sits near the trailhead for Mount Shichimen and serves pilgrims and hikers as well as overnight guests. Its current homepage carries an important notice: a pipe-system problem has stopped the hot-spring supply until repairs are complete. The same notice says the ordinary bath can still be used.
That is not the same as a working Shichimensan Onsen. The inn’s bath page still advertises day bathing for ¥500, but it does not address the supply interruption or say whether visitors can use the ordinary bath during the outage. Hayakawa Town’s older facility listing also retains the ¥500 rate and advance-reservation wording. Treat that figure as historical until the inn confirms what it currently offers.
What to ask before you go
Call Hinoya at 0556-45-2531 and ask whether day visitors are being accepted that day, what the current admission costs, and whether the bath uses the Shichimensan spring or ordinary heated water. The inn’s announcement does not specify which building’s bath is affected, the ordinary bath’s water source, or the timetable for repairs. If a natural hot spring is the reason for the trip, wait for an explicit reopening notice.
The inn itself is still listed by Hayakawa Town among accommodation providers. That does not establish room availability or spring status, so guests should confirm both when booking. The town’s June 2026 hot-spring directory no longer lists Shichimensan Onsen, while its older individual facility page remains online. These records reinforce the need to rely on the inn’s latest direct update rather than a directory snippet.
Useful for a Mount Shichimen itinerary, with a caveat
Hinoya is close to the pilgrimage route and the town bus stop named Shichimensan Tozanguchi / Akasawa Iriguchi. The main building is near the stop; the annex is a short walk away, according to local listings. That location can still help with an overnight before or after a hike, even while the spring is unavailable.
For a day-use soak elsewhere in the area, see the Hayakawa guide to baths currently listed for day visitors. Check bus times and road notices before leaving; Hayakawa’s mountain service is limited.
