If an in-room natural bath is why you are upgrading, check the room description before choosing.
The bathing difference between room types
Every guest can use the shared baths, which include indoor and outdoor bathing. Current property information identifies the public outdoor bath as natural spring water supplied directly from the source. The wider bath information also mentions circulation treatment, so it would be inaccurate to describe every bath at the property as 100% flow-through.
The six open-air-bath rooms are the clear choice for a private natural spring in the room. The current plan describes a 12.5-tatami Japanese room and a private outdoor tub supplied 100% from the source, with views toward Mount Yufu and the garden.
The four top-floor special rooms are a different upgrade: two connected tatami rooms, 10 plus 8 mats, with capacity for up to eight guests. Their view bath is heated water, not a natural hot spring. That can still suit a larger family who values floor space and a high-floor view, but it is not the right room to book for an in-room spring bath.
Pick by sleeping style and group size
The inn lists 49 rooms across several categories: 31 standard 12.5-tatami Japanese rooms, five larger 18-tatami rooms, three Deluxe Twins of about 33 square metres, six open-air-bath rooms and four special rooms.
Standard rooms make sense if you are comfortable using the public baths. Most look toward Mount Yufu, though room 316 is an exception, so treat the view as a request rather than a guarantee. The 18-tatami rooms are more useful for families or friends who need shared floor space; their outlook is toward the parking side. Deluxe Twins are the practical pick if you prefer beds and a Western-style room over sleeping on futons.
A few conditions to settle before paying
The property is about a five-minute walk from Yufuin Station, and the garden covers a broad area around the buildings. Guests with tattoos are currently barred from the shared baths and other shared facilities under the published lodging terms. A private-bath room does not automatically waive that policy, so ask the property directly if it affects your stay.
