Kushiro Airport to Lake Akan: Bus Times, Fares and Which Service to Take
Compare the Airport Liner and Route 30 from Kushiro Airport or Station, with 2026 arrival times, fares, luggage rules and seasonal Lake Akan services.
Flying into Kushiro and heading straight to Lake Akan? The Airport Liner is the simplest option if your hotel is on its route; Route 30 costs less but ends at the bus terminal. From central Kushiro, take Route 30 from Kushiro Station. Check the arrival time before choosing a day-use bath: the bus can get you to the lake at 12:10, 14:10 or after 4:30 p.m.
The timetable below is the revision dated 1 April 2026. The Airport Liner runs through 31 March 2027; Route 30 services marked seasonal run from 1 July to 31 October. Allow extra time for road delays.

The Airport Liner child fare is ¥1,350 each way from Kushiro Airport. Buy the outbound and return tickets separately.
Choose the Airport Liner if your hotel is on its route or you are travelling with large suitcases. Choose Route 30 for the lower fare or a departure from Kushiro Station.
On Route 30, take a numbered ticket when boarding if you are paying cash, then pay the fare shown for that number when you get off. If you bought a web ticket, show it to the driver as instructed in the confirmation email.

The main services shown in the 2026 timetable arrive at the Lake Akan Bus Center at the following times. Airport Liner passengers can continue to participating hotels; Route 30 passengers should add the onward walk or local transfer from the bus center.

These are scheduled times, not a promise of arrival. The Airport Liner departs Kushiro Airport at 10:00 and reaches the onsen district at about 11:15. Route 30 runs via the airport and Kushiro Station; its 12:10 arrival is useful if you are already in town, or if its airport departure lines up with your flight.
Older itineraries may omit the seasonal midday service, which arrives at 2:10 p.m. from July through October. It does not run year-round. Plan the return before you book the bath
Route 30 currently leaves Lake Akan for Kushiro at 7:30 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 12:40 p.m. (seasonal, 1 July–31 October) and 4:15 p.m. The Airport Liner also serves hotels in the onsen district; its timetable and exact hotel pickup times differ from the bus-center departures. Check the live return schedule rather than assuming it leaves at the same time as Route 30.
The Airport Liner’s second service is listed as collecting passengers from Lake Akan hotels from about 11:56 a.m. and reaching Kushiro Airport at 1:10 p.m. Hotel pickup times vary by property, so use the time shown for your own stop.
For a flight, work backwards from the airline’s check-in deadline and leave a generous buffer for road delays. The operator does not guarantee flight connections; allow similar leeway for trains from Kushiro Station.
If your trip is a day visit, compare the return bus with the facility’s last entry—not only its advertised closing time. For example, Tsuruga’s day-use bathing currently closes at 6 p.m. but stops admitting visitors at 3 p.m. A late arrival followed by an early return may leave too little time to bathe.
