Fuji Five Lakes Onsen Guide: Which Bath Fits Your Side of the Lake?

Compare Fuji Five Lakes day-use baths by location, price, views, access and closure status, including Fujiyama Onsen and Benifuji no Yu.

Updated September 2026

The Fuji Five Lakes are not one compact station area. Yurari is the practical choice around Kawaguchiko and Narusawa; Benifuji no Yu and Ishiwari no Yu sit in different parts of the Yamanakako area. Fujiyama Onsen, beside Fuji-Q Highland, is closed for repairs. Your route and the date matter more than small differences in ticket price or pH.

Stay around Kawaguchiko? Yurari is the broadest fit

Yurari adult admissionWeekdayWeekend/public holiday
10 a.m.–7 p.m.¥1,400¥1,700
After 7 p.m.¥1,200¥1,500

Face and bath towels are included. Yurari lists 16 baths, including the Mount Fuji-facing Reihō open-air bath and Panorama Bath.

The spring is listed at 31°C at source, with a daily yield of 270 tonnes; those are source figures, not bath temperatures. From Kawaguchiko Station, a local bus toward Motosuko takes about 20 minutes. A free shuttle also runs at set times, but must be reserved at least an hour ahead. Check the current timetable before using it as your only ride back.

Benifuji no Yu is not an option after September 27

Benifuji no Yu has a pH 10.3 alkaline spring, a listed source temperature of 26.1°C, and views of Mount Fuji from its indoor and outdoor baths. Its usual adult admission is ¥900, with towels sold or rented separately. But the official notice says the facility is scheduled to close temporarily from September 28, 2026 through March 2027. Keep it out of any itinerary during that closure; check for a reopening announcement before planning a later visit.

Ishiwari belongs on the eastern side of Yamanakako

Ishiwari no Yu is a better match for the Hirano area, nearby accommodation or a hike around Mt. Ishiwari than for a Kawaguchiko day. Admission is ¥900 for adults, and the facility lists an alkaline simple hot spring at pH 10.2. Its baths include a source-water warm bath, rock and cypress outdoor baths, and separate dry saunas.

The September 2026 operating notice lists Thursday as its weekly closure day. From the Hirano bus stop, expect about a 15-minute walk. There is no reason to cross from Kawaguchiko to Hirano just to save a few hundred yen; use it when the rest of your day is already on the Yamanakako side.

Fujiyama Onsen remains closed

Fujiyama Onsen initially closed for renovations on June 24, 2026. After the June 26 earthquake, the operator found damage in part of the facility and said repairs and a full safety check would take priority. Its official prices page continues to state that the facility is closed until further notice, without a reopening date. The April 2026 rates and old shuttle information describe the pre-closure operation, not a bookable visit today.

For a Fuji-Q day, the closure alternatives guide compares Sensui, Kaiun no Yu and Yurari. If you are travelling only on the Kawaguchiko side, Yurari is the easiest all-round choice; for Yamanakako, wait for Benifuji’s reopening or plan around Ishiwari’s location and hours.
