Kurhaus Yunoyama, Hiroshima: Is the Full Bath-and-Pool Pass Worth It?
Compare Kurhaus Yunoyama’s ¥510 bath pass with ¥1,560 full access to pools and swimsuit baths; both require a ¥50 bathing-tax supplement for adults.
Choose Kurhaus for the swimsuit-bath circuit, warm-water pool and exercise facilities. If you only want a hot soak, the conventional bath-and-rest ticket covers that without paying for areas you will not use.
| Adult ticket | Before bathing tax | With ¥50 tax (age 12+) |
|---|---|---|
| Conventional bath and rest area | ¥510 | ¥560 |
| Full-day access | ¥1,560 | ¥1,610 |
| Evening full-use pass, from 6 p.m. | ¥830 | ¥880 |
Bring a swimsuit to avoid the rental charge.
The ¥510 ticket stops at the conventional bath
The basic ticket covers the rest area and the gender-separated nude bath. It does not include the second-floor swimsuit bathing zone, the spring-water pool or the training room. That makes it a reasonable choice for a one-hour bath stop, especially if you would rather not pack swimwear.
The nearby Yunoyama Onsenkan is a different proposition: its small historic bathhouse is known for a cold-spring cascade, while Kurhaus is built around a wider bathing and exercise circuit.
The full pass opens the swimsuit area, spring-water pool and training room. The evening pass is available from 6 p.m. The facility closes at 9 p.m., but no single final-admission time is published; call before travelling from Hiroshima after dinner.
The second-floor swimsuit circuit has warm and medium-temperature baths, whirlpool and jet baths, bubble bathing, reclining and walking baths, a mist sauna, steam box, cascade bath and an outdoor bath. The first floor has a warming bath and spring-water pool; shared rest rooms are on the second and third floors.
The larger pass pays off when you plan to use several of these areas. For one or two tubs, the conventional bath is enough.

Swimwear and the small extra costs
Swimsuits are required in the second-floor bath area, and the exercise pool also requires a swimming cap. Towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, a hair dryer and basic toiletries are available.
| Optional item | Price |
|---|---|
| Swimsuit rental | ¥410 per visit |
| Personal-belongings locker | ¥100 |
For an adult without a swimsuit, the full daytime visit comes to ¥2,020 including tax and swimsuit rental. The after-6pm visit is ¥1,290 on the same basis. Those totals do not include a paid belongings locker. If you are only using the nude bath, the swimwear rental is unnecessary and the total stays at ¥560.
Children under elementary-school age cannot enter on their own. Children who are not toilet trained must wear water-play pants under a swimsuit, and the water slide has a 120 cm minimum height.
The exercise pool connects to the second-floor bathing area by stairs. Anyone unable to manage stairs should call before visiting. Eligible visitors with listed disability or medical certificates, plus a companion, can receive a reduction on the standard day ticket; the basic bath-only ticket is excluded. See the Hiroshima family onsen guide for age rules at other facilities.
A day trip from Hiroshima needs more than a bus ticket
Kurhaus Yunoyama is at 443 Wada, Yuki-cho, Saeki Ward, roughly 50 minutes from central Hiroshima by car in the operator’s directions. The site has parking for about 200 vehicles, which makes driving the straightforward way to use the full facilities without watching the return clock.
From JR Itsukaichi or Hiroden Itsukaichi Station, take the Yuki-bound bus to Ohashi. The ride takes about an hour, followed by a roughly 20-minute walk.
The facility also offers free pickup from Ohashi. Its pages do not give pickup times or reservation terms; call 0829-83-1198 to arrange both the outward and return trips. Without the pickup, the final approach is on foot and exposed to the weather.
That journey is why the ¥830 evening pass is not automatically a bargain for someone leaving central Hiroshima after 6pm. The bus ride, last stretch and return service can eat into the time you have left before the 9pm close. It works better if you are already staying around Yuki or have a car. For a city-side soak without a long transfer, the Hiroshima Station evening onsen guide has closer options.
Kurhaus Yunoyama is closed on Tuesdays, except when a Tuesday falls on a public holiday. It also closes on 31 December and 1 January, and maintenance or pool cleaning can cause additional closures. The current schedule lists general hours of 10am–9pm. Check the operator’s schedule and notices before leaving, especially for a weekday trip.
