Miharuen is a good option when you want a simple natural hot-spring soak outside central Nara and can fit your visit around the daytime shuttle. The spring is listed as sodium bicarbonate water with a pH of 8.9, but it is heated and circulated through filtration. This is not a free-flowing source-water bath, nor a large spa complex with a long circuit of pools.
Day-use prices and hours
| Visitor | Admission |
|---|---|
| Adult, junior high school age and over | ¥550 |
| Uda residents aged 60 and over | ¥400 |
| Elementary school age and under | ¥270 |
| Under 3 | Free |
The day bath is open from 10 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.; last admission is 7:15 p.m. The resident rate has an eligibility condition, so most visitors should budget ¥550. Maintenance can affect hours, and the operator’s notice takes precedence over the usual schedule.
What the spring information does—and does not—say
Miharuen identifies the source as Miharuen Onsen, a sodium bicarbonate spring with a pH of 8.9. Its page explicitly lists the water as heated and circulated/filtered. That is useful detail if you care about how a facility supplies its baths, but the hotel does not publish a source temperature or a separate tub temperature on the cited day-use page. There is no need to guess either figure.
The bathing experience is a hotel’s public bath, rather than a large day spa. If a wide choice of outdoor baths, sauna facilities or a longer on-site stay is the priority, compare it with Akino no Yu. If you mainly want a straightforward soak and a low admission price, Miharuen’s simpler setup is the point.
The shuttle is useful until 5 p.m.
The hotel’s free shuttle connects with Kintetsu Haibara Station. Buses leave the station at 10 minutes past the hour, from 10:10 a.m. through 5:10 p.m. Return buses leave Miharuen on the hour, from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. The final return therefore leaves before the bath closes; arrange a taxi or another way back if you plan to stay later.
By car, the operator lists about 130 free parking spaces, with no reservation required. It estimates roughly 20 minutes from the Hari interchange via National Route 369, around 20 minutes from Sakurai, and about 30 minutes from Nabari. If the trip depends on a particular bus or train connection, confirm the latest timetable before setting out.
Private bath and kids’ room are for overnight guests
| Private bath detail | Current listing |
|---|---|
| Session | 45 minutes, 9–9:45 p.m. |
| Price | ¥2,500 |
| Eligibility | Overnight guests only; day visitors cannot add it to the ¥550 admission |
| Weekly closure | Monday and Tuesday |
| Last booking | 7:30 p.m. |
The large kids’ room is likewise reserved for overnight guests. Its published hours are 8–10 a.m. and 2–8 p.m. Families visiting only for the day should not count on using it. For a day out built around play facilities as well as bathing, Nara Health Land has a broader offer, though its admission and paid add-ons cost more.
Miharuen’s tattoo policy is unstated. Ask the hotel before travelling if you need to know whether its shared baths allow tattoos; rules at other Nara facilities do not answer that question.
By car, there are about 130 free spaces; the hotel estimates roughly 20 minutes from Hari Interchange.
The city’s August 2026 market-sounding survey concerns possible private-sector use after the current management term ends in March 2028. It is not a closure announcement: as of September 2026, the hotel continued publishing day-bath, lodging and shuttle information.

The short version
Choose Miharuen for a ¥550 natural-spring bath, especially if Haibara Station and the free shuttle fit your route. The water is heated and filtered, the facilities are relatively simple, and the last shuttle leaves at 5 p.m. A late soak, a day-use private bath or the kids’ room are not part of the offer described for ordinary day visitors.
