Chouseikan is a full-service inn in Murasugi Onsen, one of the three districts in Agano’s Gozu Onsenkyo. Its day bath is built around a large landscaped outdoor bathing area and indoor baths. It costs more than the nearby communal bath, but you are choosing a different setting and a longer, more spacious visit rather than simply paying for the same soak at a higher rate.

The indoor baths provide an option in poor weather. The cooler pool is a choice, not a required part of the visit.

Getting there and accessibility
Without a car, take the Agano City Gozu Onsenkyo bus from the Suibara area to Murasugi Onsen. Check the route timetable and return departure for your date; the service is not frequent enough to leave the ride back until after your bath. Chouseikan’s Niigata Station shuttle is reservation-based and its terms are aimed at direct-booking guests, so confirm eligibility rather than assuming it comes with bath-only admission.
There are stairs on routes to the entrance, bathing area and dining room. Chouseikan’s FAQ notes that the inn is not fully barrier-free. Call ahead if steps, handrails or the distance between the parking area and bath could affect your visit.
