Muromachi Day-Use Onsen in Murasugi: Hours, Price and Bath Access

Kappo Ryokan Muromachi in Murasugi charges ¥700 for its 10:30 am–3 pm indoor bath. The private outdoor bath is separate; irregular closures apply.

Admission is ¥700 per adult and ¥350 per child aged three or older.

The inn closes on irregular days, and its private outdoor bath is not part of the standard walk-in ticket.

Muromachi is a five-room inn in Murasugi Onsen, with a simple day-bathing option that costs less than the larger ryokan nearby. The trade-off is scale: the ¥700 visit is for the gender-separated indoor bath, not a pass to every bathing facility on the property.

A low-cost inn bath, with a firm time window

The inn’s posted walk-in terms are ¥700 for adults (junior high school age and older) and ¥350 for children aged three and up. Bathing runs from 10:30 am to 3 pm. It is closed on irregular days, so call before setting out rather than treating the schedule as daily opening hours.

Bring a towel, or buy a face towel for ¥150 and rent a bath towel for ¥300. The notice does not say that the ¥700 admission includes a rest room or meal, so plan for a bath stop rather than a half-day package.

What the ticket covers

Muromachi has separate indoor baths for men and women, with handrails in the bathing area. A private outdoor bath, Eboshi-no-yu, is also on the property, but the inn lists it as a reserved bath for overnight guests, with one 45-minute session included per stay. Ordinary day admission does not include it, and no standard day-visitor add-on price is published. If you need a private bath, ask the inn directly instead of assuming one can be booked at the desk.

The inn identifies its water as the Murasugi No. 3 radium spring. Its bath information describes the supply as a combination of recirculation and fresh-flow-through, partly to conserve the spring and manage water temperature. In other words, it is not accurate to describe every pool as 100% free-flowing. The 25.2°C figure published for the spring is a source temperature, not the temperature of the indoor bath.

Pair it with the right Murasugi stop

Choose Muromachi when a compact ryokan bath and a modest admission fee are enough. If you want a large garden outdoor bath, temperature contrast or a bookable day-use private bath, the Chouseikan bath guide explains a bigger setup. For a quick low-cost soak at the local communal bath, see the Yakushi-no-yu guide.

Without a car, the Agano City Gozu Onsenkyo bus connects the Suibara area with the Murasugi Onsen stop. Timetables vary by date and service conditions; check the return trip as well as the ride out. A bus arrival after 3 pm will miss Muromachi’s day-bath window.
