Sakihana Onsen After 5 pm: A Quick Plan for Late Train Arrivals

After 5 p.m., Ryusuien is the only inn with a listed evening day bath, but closures vary and last entry is unpublished; call before leaving the station.

Arriving at Sakihana after work can still leave time for a bath, but it is not a good place to improvise at the station. The inns are close by; admission is the uncertain part. A quick call can save a walk to a closed reception desk—or a missed train home.

A three-minute decision, before you get off the train

Ryusuien is the only inn whose tourism listing gives an ordinary day-use window that reaches 8:30 pm: 9 am–8:30 pm, with adult admission at ¥600. Its closing days are irregular, and the listing does not state a final reception time. Call and ask whether it is open to day bathers, how late you may arrive and when the bath closes.

If the answer is no, do not assume a guest-only schedule will work as a backup. Marumatsu’s 24-hour note is for overnight guests, Hekisuiso’s long bath hours are not a public admission promise, and Satorikan’s former 6–9 pm ordinary bath was discontinued in March 2025. Bousenkaku’s night-return offers are booked meal-and-bath packages, not a simple late walk-in ticket.

If you reach Sakihana…What to do
5–6 pmCall Ryusuien first; it has the longest listed ordinary day-bath window
6–7:30 pmGo only after the inn confirms your arrival time and admission
7:30–8 pmTreat a visit as uncertain; ask for a clear latest-arrival time
After 8:30 pmDo not plan on an ordinary day bath without a direct arrangement

Keep a fallback that does not depend on the bath

Check the JR Ban’etsu West Line timetable before you leave. If Ryusuien is closed or cannot accept visitors, there is no guaranteed late-night alternative among the ordinary day-bath listings. An overnight booking or a prearranged meal-and-bath package is a different plan; neither should be assumed available at the last minute.

For standard admission, meal packages and guest-only bath hours, see the Sakihana evening day-bath guide. Travellers arriving between 3 and 5 p.m. can use the late-afternoon guide to compare more options.
