Yasaka Onsen in Fukushima, Osaka: A Late-Night Sento Near Nodahanshin
Yasaka Onsen in Fukushima stays open until 1am, with dry and steam saunas, a cold bath and outdoor tubs. All three nearby stations are a 7-minute walk.
In Fukushima Ward, late-night bath options thin out quickly. Yasaka Onsen stays open until 1am and is about seven minutes on foot from Nodahanshin, JR Ebie and Hanshin Noda. It is handy after dinner, a show or a late shift, especially if you are staying nearby. The bathhouse is closed on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
Admission is ¥600 for adults under Osaka’s current public-bath tariff, ¥200 for elementary-school children and ¥100 for younger children.
The association lists dry and steam saunas, plus cold, outdoor, electric, jet and soft-water baths. Sauna use costs extra. Dated 2026 visitor posts often mention a ¥200 surcharge with a rental towel and key, but the association does not publish it as a fixed tariff; check the total at the counter.
The 1am closing time is useful only if you leave time to bathe
Yasaka’s listed hours are 2pm–1am. The extra time over a typical neighborhood bath is the point: it can fit after a late meal or performance when other local options are already closed. Still, 1am is closing time, not an invitation to arrive at 12:55 and try every facility.
With 60–90 minutes, wash first, then choose the dry sauna or steam room and leave time to cool down. If you reach the bathhouse after midnight, pick one main bath or sauna and set a departure time that protects your last train. Travelers using different rail lines should agree on where to meet after bathing rather than assuming everyone has the same ride home.
Three stations, one short walk
Osaka Metro Nodahanshin, JR Tozai Line Ebie and Hanshin Noda are all listed at about seven minutes on foot. From Namba, the subway is convenient; JR Tozai Line works for the Kitashinchi and Kyobashi side, while Hanshin serves the Osaka-Umeda and Amagasaki direction. Pick the station that matches your hotel and last train.
There are only two parking spaces at the bathhouse. They may be occupied, particularly in the evening, so drivers should have a nearby paid car park in mind.
Two sauna styles and a cold bath
The association confirms both a dry sauna and a steam sauna. Visitor records from 2026 have reported roughly 100°C in the dry room and around 60°C in the steam room. Those are snapshots, not permanent settings; ventilation, season and where the reading is taken all matter. The reliable takeaway is the choice of dry heat or humid heat under one roof.
A cold bath is confirmed. Recent visitor notes often describe it as quite cold—around 14°C in some reports, with women’s-side readings around 16°C—but the temperature is not fixed. Start gently if you are new to alternating heat and cold, and leave the water if you feel unwell.
There is more to do without using a sauna: the facility list also includes an outdoor bath, soft-water bath, electric bath, jet bath, seated bath and reclining bath. The outdoor area gives you a chance to cool off; it is a neighborhood sento, not a mountain-view resort. Anyone with a pacemaker, implanted electronic medical device or advice to avoid electrical stimulation should skip the electric bath and follow their clinician’s guidance.
Soft water is not the same as a natural hot spring
Yasaka lists soft-water bathing, but soft water describes water treatment and hardness; it does not establish a spring source under Japan’s Hot Spring Act. The current association listing does not provide a spring analysis for the bathhouse. The name “Onsen,” an outdoor bath and a cold bath are not substitutes for one.
If verified spring water is essential, consider Fudō no Yu or Terume Ryugu, which have stronger first-party spring documentation.
Yasaka, Tatsumi or Rakutenchi?
Yasaka is the straightforward choice if you are around Nodahanshin or Ebie and need the 1am closing, two sauna styles and several bath options. Tatsumi Onsen suits Ebie visitors who want its Osaka Castle mosaic and carbonated bath, and can work with an earlier close. Rakutenchi Onsen is in the Tenma/Tenroku area and stays open until 1:30am; that extra half-hour may matter more than Yasaka’s second sauna if you are based there.
The bathhouse’s founding-era description pairs the Japanese year “Showa 1” with conflicting Gregorian dates. Rather than repeat an uncertain exact year, it is safest to describe Yasaka as a long-running local bathhouse.
Our editorial ratings reflect that trade-off: Yasaka scores highly for variety, access and value, but the late-night neighborhood setting is not especially quiet.

When is Yasaka open? 2pm–1am, closed the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
Is the cold bath always 14°C? No. That is a recent reported reading, not a guaranteed set temperature.
