Four day baths in Tokachigawa, with different hours and towel costs

Compare four Tokachigawa day baths by 2026 prices, hours, towels and spring-water details. Check Sasai Hotel’s current notice before making the trip.

Tokachigawa’s Moor spring water is the regional draw, but a day visit depends on the hotel’s timetable. Daiichi Hotel gives you the broadest mix of baths and included towels. Kangetsuen publishes the clearest distinction between its indoor and outdoor water. Daiheigen costs less but opens later on weekdays. Sasai Hotel’s normal schedule is not enough to establish that it is operating on your date.

BathAdult rate listed for 2026Regular day-use hoursTowels
Tokachigawa Daiichi Hotel¥2,0001–9 p.m.; 1:30 p.m. start Mondays and ThursdaysBath and face towels included
Kangetsuen¥2,000Generally 5–8 a.m. and 1–9 p.m. weekdays/Sundays; Saturday sessions varyTowel set included

Sasai Hotel¥1,300 under normal listingNormally 1–9 p.m., last entry 8 p.m.Face towel ¥150; bath towel ¥300

These are published regular conditions, not guaranteed entry. Sasai’s boiler outage from September 2–11, 2026 has ended: its latest official notice says day bathing and overnight service have resumed, while warning that water temperature or supply may still fluctuate after repairs. Check the hotel’s notice on the day rather than relying on its standard price page.

Pick the bath that fits your arrival

Daiichi is the straightforward first visit if you want different bathing styles, a sauna and no separate towel calculation. Kangetsuen can work for an early bath, but the Saturday afternoon schedule is split; its regular morning hours are not a day-use guarantee every day. The hotel’s water details are unusually specific: indoor baths use circulation, heating and chlorine disinfection, while the outdoor bath is diluted and operated as a flow-through bath. Not every feature pool uses the same water.

Daiheigen is the lower-cost option for a later afternoon. On a weekday, arriving before 3 p.m. means finding something else to do first. Sasai should only be considered after you verify its operating status for the date.

Getting there and going back

Tokachi Bus Route 45 connects JR Obihiro Station with Tokachigawa in about half an hour, but services are spaced apart and can differ by weekday or weekend. Check the last return before bathing. A free hotel shuttle is not automatically available to day visitors; confirm directly if you plan to rely on one.

The ¥2,000 entries include towels at Daiichi and Kangetsuen, while Daiheigen’s towel set costs extra. At Sasai, face and bath towels are separately priced. For two adults arriving without towels, the listed totals are ¥4,000 at Daiichi or Kangetsuen, ¥2,400 at Daiheigen, and ¥3,500 at Sasai under its normal rate. These exclude transport and depend on the facilities accepting day visitors that day.

Children’s rates differ: Daiichi lists ¥500 for ages one through elementary school, Kangetsuen ¥700 for that age range, and Daiheigen ¥500 for ages three through elementary school. Sasai lists ¥500 for children aged three through elementary school. Verify age rules and current admission with each hotel.

Daiichi has an automatic steam sauna and varied pools. Kangetsuen has a sauna, but its waterfall, walking and reclining baths use tap water. Daiheigen lists a sauna, bubble bath, relaxation/esthetic bath and cold bath alongside its Moor bath; do not assume every feature pool uses spring water.

For Kangetsuen, the weekday/Sunday morning session is 5–8 a.m.; Saturdays normally split into 5–8 a.m., 1–3 p.m. and 6–9 p.m. The daytime window can therefore disappear for several hours on Saturday. Daiichi’s normal 1–9 p.m. window starts at 1:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Daiheigen’s last reception is usually 8 p.m. Tattoo rules are not clearly stated in the available public information; ask before travelling if this affects your visit.
