Daibosatsu no Yu or Yamato Tenmoku Onsen After a Hike?
Finish on the Enzan side at Daibosatsu no Yu, or choose Yamato Tenmoku for routes via Kai-Yamato and Kami-Kanogawa. Match the bath to your descent and train.
Checked: September 27, 2026
After a day on the Daibosatsu trails, the wrong bath can cost more time than the soak is worth. The two facilities serve different sides of the mountain, and buses are not frequent enough to leave the decision until you reach the trailhead.

| Regular closure | Tuesday | Wednesday |
| Best fit | Return via Enzan Station / Daibosatsu-toge side | Return via Kai-Yamato Station / Kami-Kanogawa side |
Koshu City changed the pricing on April 1, 2026. Both facilities now charge once per visit; older brochures showing separate three-hour and all-day admission no longer describe the current system. The ¥100 difference is rarely worth crossing the mountain for. Choose around your bus and train connection.
If your route comes down toward Enzan
Daibosatsu no Yu stays open later and lists a sauna alongside indoor and outdoor baths. The facility’s access page shows several buses between Enzan Station and the bath, but some runs operate only on weekends and holidays outside winter. The bus schedule is sparse, so check the exact date and direction before you set your hiking pace. The published facility hours are 10 am–9 pm, with reception ending at 8 pm; Tuesday is the regular closing day.
If you are coming down to Kai-Yamato
Yamato Tenmoku Onsen is the natural stop if your hike ends on the Kami-Kanogawa side. The bath is close to the route used by buses from Kami-Kanogawa Pass toward Kai-Yamato, but those services are seasonal and timetable-dependent. Confirm the bus is running on your hiking date before counting on a soak. Admission is ¥600 for adults from outside Koshu, and the last entry is 6 pm.
The onsen has an outdoor bath near the Yake-yamazawa valley and a dining area. Daibosatsu has the clearer sauna offering. Facility pages do not settle tattoo rules for either bath, so ask ahead if that determines where you can go.
Lock the return journey first
For either option, start with the trail route, bus departure and last train, then see how much bathing time remains. Some departures shown on official timetables are limited to weekends or exclude the winter period. A planned hike can also run late, so avoid making the last bus your only way back to the station.
