Rakuten STAY VILLA Yufuin: Choose by Sauna, Outdoor Bath and Group Size
Rakuten STAY VILLA Yufuin gives all 20 rooms a private spring bath and sauna. A/B add outdoor tubs; check the C-room number for sauna type and pet rules.
Checked: September 27, 2026 Rakuten STAY VILLA Yufuin is closer to a private rental home than a staffed ryokan. The newly opened property has 18 villa buildings and 20 rooms, each with a private natural-spring bath and sauna. You do not need to upgrade just to get an onsen; choose based on who is travelling, whether you want an outdoor tub and which sauna is installed.
| Type | Capacity | Bath and sauna | A useful fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Up to 10 | Outdoor spring bath and high-temperature sauna | Larger groups who want the most indoor space and an outdoor soak |
| B | Up to 8 | Outdoor spring bath and high-temperature sauna | Groups who want a separate annex-style sleeping area |
| C | Up to 6 | Private spring bath; C01–C03 have a high-temperature sauna, C04–C06 a steam sauna | Families who want a single-storey layout and should check the exact unit |
| D | Up to 4 | Private spring bath and high-temperature sauna | A smaller group wanting a single-storey villa |
The room number matters for C-type sauna
Every room has a private bath and sauna, but the C-type is split between high-temperature and steam models. The official room list assigns C01–C03 to high-temperature saunas and C04–C06 to steam saunas. If that distinction matters, confirm the exact villa number on the plan before paying.
The official site describes the spring as an alkaline simple hot spring. A and B have an outdoor bath; C and D have a private natural-spring bath without that outdoor feature. A larger capacity also means more sleeping arrangements to coordinate: A and B use a mix of beds and futons, so check the bedding layout for your group rather than relying on maximum occupancy alone.

Food, pets and arrival logistics
The villas are designed for a self-contained stay, with in-room dining plans also available. This is not a traditional ryokan dinner-service setup; check what your selected meal plan includes and when ingredients or prepared dishes arrive. Contactless check-in uses a door code sent before arrival, so read the instructions and make sure the booking contact can receive them.
The property is about a seven-minute drive or taxi ride from Yufuin Station. Free parking is listed for one car in C/D and two in A/B. The official site identifies only selected A and D units as pet-friendly; confirm the exact room and current pet conditions directly before booking.
For another Yufuin stay with a private bath but a different format, see the private-onsen ryokan comparison or Yufuin’s stay-area guide.
