Nagomitsuki has 12 rooms, and every one comes with a semi-open-air bath fed by the property’s source. That makes the choice less about securing a private onsen and more about room to spread out, bed layout and whether you want dinner included.
All five room types include a semi-open-air private bath; the detached deluxe twin adds a rock bath and a more separate feel. The room table below compares their sizes, beds and capacity. For two guests who mainly want their own hot spring, a standard double or twin already has the central feature.

The hotel describes all 12 room baths as 100% source-fed and continuously flowing. The spring is a sodium chloride–sulfate type. Temperature can vary, so anyone who needs a particular bathing temperature should check directly rather than infer it from the spring description.
Dinner has a firm start time
Dinner is a seasonal kaiseki meal featuring seafood from the Bungo Channel and ingredients from Oita. The usual start is 6 pm. The listed check-in window runs later, but guests with dinner included are asked to arrive by 6; call ahead if you may be delayed. Allergy requests need to be made at least three days before arrival. The property says it cannot accommodate preferences such as disliked ingredients or vegetarian meals.
Breakfast is also available, and the room-only option leaves more flexibility for eating out. Choose the meal plan for the stay you want, not just because it is the most common booking option.
A quiet location, with a limited shuttle
Nagomitsuki is in Kamikami, about 20 minutes by car from JR Beppu Station. Free parking is available. A complimentary station shuttle must be reserved in advance, has limited seats and operates in the mid-afternoon window. The access page lists service from 3 to 4:30 pm and asks guests to book by 3 pm the day before; availability is first come, first served. Do not plan on turning up at the station and expecting a ride.
There are also gender-separated public baths, open from 3 pm until 9 am the following morning. They are a change of scene from the in-room bath rather than the only way to use the spring. The hotel does not accept guests aged 12 or younger, so this is an adults-focused property, not a family ryokan. Tattoo rules for the shared baths are not clearly stated; ask before booking if that affects your plans.
