Tsushima Atsuta Onsen: Day-Bath Prices, Family Baths and Access
In Uwajima, Tsushima Atsuta Onsen charges ¥850 for adults. Its three reservable family baths cost ¥4,000 for 90 minutes; check its Tuesday closures.
Search results for the old Tsushima Yasuragi no Sato can still make this place look closed. That information predates the rebuild. The new Michi-no-Eki Tsushima Atsuta Onsen opened on April 23, 2026, combining a bathhouse with a restaurant, local-produce shop, parking and a 24-hour restroom.
Admission, hours and the family baths
The public bath is open 10 am–10 pm, with last entry at 9:30 pm. It closes on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
| Visitor | Standard admission | LINE-member rate |
|---|---|---|
| Ages 15–64 | ¥850 | ¥800 |
| Ages 65 and over | ¥750 | ¥700 |
| Age 4 through elementary school | ¥300 | — |
Three private family rooms are available by reservation.
| Family-bath charge | Session | Group condition |
|---|---|---|
| ¥4,000 | 90 minutes | Groups larger than five pay an additional charge |
Each family bath is listed as free-flowing spring water. Confirm whether the room charge includes bath admission and ask about the group surcharge when booking.
That spring-water claim is specific to the family baths. The shared bathing area uses natural hot-spring water, but the public information does not document every tub’s circulation, heating and treatment separately. If full flow-through use is essential to you, book a family bath rather than assuming the same setup applies across the public area.
A new facility, not the old bathhouse
The rebuilt site has indoor and outdoor baths, a cold bath and private family baths. There is also a restaurant serving local ingredients and a shop for regional goods. Restrooms remain open around the clock, even though the bathhouse has its own closing time.
The distinction from the former Tsushima Yasuragi no Sato is practical: old closure notices, prices and interior photos may describe the pre-rebuild facility. For a 2026 visit, use the name Michi-no-Eki Tsushima Atsuta Onsen and check the new facility’s current notice before leaving.
Is ¥850 good value for the shared baths?
It is not the cheapest natural spring in southern Ehime. Haraigawa charges ¥450 and Yamaidashi ¥650, and both have clearer public-bath flow-through information. Tsushima Atsuta’s case is the newer, fuller setup: indoor and outdoor baths, sauna, cold bath and roadside-station food and shopping in one stop. If you will not use the sauna or other facilities, the cheaper baths may suit a simple soak better.
The published facility description lists three sauna types in the men’s area and two in the women’s area, alongside cold baths and an outdoor-air break. That makes the facility useful after a long drive. The source material does not publish a complete analysis for the new spring, so figures from the former bathhouse or nearby sources should not be carried over.
How it compares with Haraigawa and Yamaidashi
| Facility | Public bath | Private bath | Practical distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Haraigawa | ¥450 | Three rooms, ¥1,200–¥1,350 for 50 minutes | Sulfur spring; remote drive and occasional equipment closures |
| Yamaidashi | ¥650 | ¥1,850 for 50 minutes | Accommodation and camping are also available |
| Tsushima Atsuta | ¥850 | ¥4,000 for 90 minutes | Roadside station with sauna; family baths are listed as free-flowing |
Tsushima Atsuta’s shared bath uses natural hot-spring water, but its circulation details are not fully published.
In short, choose by the stop you need: Haraigawa for the sulfur spring and low private-bath cost, Yamaidashi for a slower stay, or Tsushima Atsuta for a modern roadside stop with sauna facilities. The Haraigawa–Yamaidashi comparison has the details on the other two.
Tattoos and practical checks
The current public pages do not give a clear tattoo policy. Ask the facility before visiting if this matters to you. When booking a family room, confirm whether the ¥4,000 charge includes each bather’s admission, any group-size surcharge and the available session. No-car visitors should also check the return journey separately; late opening hours do not guarantee a bus back to Uwajima.
For the older, more remote bath options in the same part of Ehime, compare Haraigawa and Yamaidashi before driving out of the city.
Getting there
The roadside station sits just off Tsushima-Takata Interchange on the Uwajima Road, making it most convenient by car. Free parking is available. From JR Uwajima Station, the Ehime tourism listing gives a taxi ride of about 15 minutes; do not read the 10 pm closing time as a public-transport guarantee, since you will need to check return services separately.
The address is 830-1 Takata-ko, Tsushima, Uwajima, Ehime. For reservations and day-of questions, call +81 895-49-6920.
