Dormy Inn Hiroshima Annex: What Its Natural Onsen Actually Includes

Check Dormy Inn Hiroshima Annex’s transported spring-water bath, 3 p.m.–10 a.m. hours and sauna break; no room has a listed private onsen.

The main reason to stay at Dormy Inn Hiroshima Annex is having a natural hot-spring bath in central Hiroshima without giving up an evening in town. It is a public, gender-separated bath on the 14th floor, not a private onsen attached to your room. The hotel confirms that spring water is brought in from Zennyuji Onsen in Mihara for the indoor bath. Its published details stop short of confirming the same water for every tub.

The bath stays open overnight; the sauna does not

The public bath, Geishu-no-yu, is open daily from 3pm until 10am the next morning. The indoor bath uses transported hot-spring water. The facility also lists an open-air bath, a cold plunge and a high-temperature dry sauna in both bathing areas. Sauna use stops between 1am and 5am; the rest of the bath remains open during those hours.

There is a dated maintenance exception to keep in mind: the hotel has announced a full bath closure on Thursday, 15 October 2026, from 10am to 6pm. It plans to reopen once the work is finished, with normal service from 6pm. If that date falls during your stay, check the hotel’s notice before planning around an afternoon soak.

For an overnight stay, the bath is easiest to use as three separate windows: get the spring-fed indoor bath done after 3 p.m.; return before 1 a.m. if the dry sauna is part of the plan; then use the morning opening before 10 a.m. Yonaki Soba is served 9:30–11 p.m., post-bath ice cream until 1 a.m., and a lactic-acid drink from 5–10 a.m. These complimentary services help only if you are at the hotel at those times.

The hotel does not publish a final admission time separate from the closing time. For a late arrival, the distinction matters less than the long overnight window, but check with the front desk if you expect to reach the bath close to 10am.

What “natural onsen” means here

The hotel names the spring source as Zennyuji Onsen in Mihara City and lists the quality as a simple weakly radioactive cold mineral spring. “Cold” describes the source classification, not the temperature of the bath guests use. The hotel does not publish a source temperature or a bathing-pool temperature for this property.

The source water is transported to the hotel, so the description does not establish that the baths are flow-through. The indoor bath is the one the hotel explicitly identifies as spring-fed. Its pages list the open-air bath separately but do not confirm its water source. The outdoor tub, cold plunge and room bathroom therefore should not be described as spring-fed based on the hotel name alone.

That also sets a limit on the stay: guests who require an in-room hot spring, a private bath for two, or confirmation that the open-air tub is spring-fed will not find that guarantee in the current room and bath descriptions. The hotel bars guests with tattoos from the public bath; no cover-sticker exception is listed.

Choose a room for its layout, not for more onsen

The room list includes single, double, queen, twin, superior twin, king, residential double and universal room types. A single is 13.6 m²; standard doubles run 16.1–18.4 m², while the 19.9 m² twin has two beds. The Residential Double is 16.1–17.1 m² and adds a microwave and two-door refrigerator, which are useful on a longer stay. The Universal Room is a separate room type; check its specific layout with the hotel if accessibility features are essential.

None of the listed room types is described as a private hot-spring room, and the room page makes no claim that its bathroom uses the Mihara spring. Paying more for a king bed, twin layout or residential amenities changes the room setup, not the documented spring-water access.

Tanaka-machi is convenient for downtown, not beside Hiroshima Station

The hotel is at 5-9 Tanaka-machi, Naka Ward. The Tanaka-machi stop on the Ekimae Loop bus is about a one-minute walk away; Kanayama-cho streetcar stop is around ten minutes on foot. From Hiroshima Station, the hotel estimates about ten minutes by taxi. That makes it easier to fold into an evening around Hatchobori, Nagarekawa and Peace Boulevard than into a routine of carrying luggage between the station and a station-front hotel.

From Hiroshima Airport, the hotel’s access page points guests to the airport bus for Hiroshima Bus Center. There is no hotel airport shuttle listed, so plan a separate city transfer from the bus center. Drivers have 18 mechanical parking spaces and one flat accessible space. Overnight parking costs ¥2,300 from 3pm to 11am the next day; spaces are limited, and the hotel directs guests elsewhere if its lot is full. Bicycle parking is not available at the hotel.

Hiroshima’s lodging tax began on stays from 1 April 2026. Dormy Inn Hiroshima Annex says the tax is included in its displayed room price, so do not add a second ¥200 charge at check-in. Room rates themselves vary by date and cancellation terms, so compare the full total for your exact stay.

If an early train or Miyajima departure leaves before breakfast starts, paying extra may not work. Compare a breakfast-included plan with room-only plus the restaurant price for your exact dates.

If you want to compare other city hotels with natural baths, see the Hiroshima natural-onsen hotel guide. For a soak without booking a hotel night, the Hiroshima Station evening onsen guide covers closer day-use options.
