Kobe Minato Onsen Ren: Day-Use Prices, Baths and What’s Included
Ren’s adults-only day entry is ¥2,715 weekdays or ¥3,155 weekends, with a free shuttle from Sannomiya and optional pools and stone baths.
Ren makes most sense when you want to settle in for a few hours. Towels, loungewear, bath amenities and one drink are part of the standard visit; a view of the harbor is not a reason to assume the rooftop baths or pools are included. The public day-use bath is on the first floor. The tenth-floor panorama bath is for overnight guests.
What a regular day ticket covers

| Towels, loungewear and bath amenities | Included | Rental/use during your visit |
| One drink | Included | Choose from the available drinks |
| OCEANS SPA indoor and outdoor pools | Extra charge | 9 a.m.–10 p.m.; ¥2,200 including tax |
| Hachirenge stone and lava baths | Extra charge | 9 a.m.–11 p.m.; ¥1,100 including tax |
| Tenth-floor panorama bath | Not included | Overnight guests only |
The pools are separate from the gender-segregated baths, so they are the option for a group that wants to spend time in the water together. Pool admission is an add-on to day-use entry, not a replacement ticket. The outdoor pool is heated, while the indoor pool is designed for fitness; the facility lists both at around 30°C. Swimwear rental costs extra. For a bath-focused visit, you can skip the pool and stone-bath areas entirely.
There is no public family bath or mixed-gender bathing area. The hotel’s Ocean Suite and Harbor Suite have private spring baths, but those are room features, not day-use rentals. If you want to bathe together, check a private-bath option in the wider Kansai area before booking Ren.
The water source is real; the treatment varies by bath
Ren draws its Kobe Minato Onsen No. 1 spring from 1,150 metres underground. The operator lists a source temperature of 35°C and classifies it as a sodium-bicarbonate/chloride spring with weak alkalinity. It describes a source-fed, flowing bath in the first-floor outdoor area. The bath guide also lists a high-concentration carbonated bath, seasonal bath, reclining bath and individual tubs, so the source’s temperature and chemistry should not be treated as the reading for every pool.
The facility’s current pages do not spell out the heating, dilution, filtration or circulation method for each individual tub. If water handling is your main reason for visiting, use the operator’s bath labels and ask which tub is flowing on the day. The ¥2,715 or ¥3,155 entry price does not mean that every bath is filled with untreated source water.
Current admission and seasonal dates
Standard day-use entry is ¥2,715 on an ordinary weekday or ¥3,155 on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday. Both totals include consumption tax and the bathing tax. Activities and special plans may be priced separately, and any price described as including admission should say so explicitly.
For 2026, Ren lists a special operating rate of ¥3,630 including consumption tax, with the bathing tax charged separately, during these periods:
- Golden Week: April 25–May 10
- Obon: August 8–16
- New Year: December 26, 2026–January 5, 2027
Those spring and summer dates have passed. If you are planning a winter visit, use the special-period rate for the New Year dates rather than the ordinary weekday price. Pool events and seasonal packages have their own dates and availability; the regular pool hours alone do not guarantee a particular night-pool event is running.
The first-floor baths are open from 6 a.m. to midnight. The operator does not give a separate final-entry time on the fee page, so check directly if you are arriving late. The pool runs 9 a.m.–10 p.m., and Hachirenge closes at 11 p.m.; arriving just before midnight would leave little time for either add-on.
Sannomiya shuttle, walking and parking
Ren is in Shinko-cho on Kobe’s waterfront, about a 20-minute walk from Sannomiya according to the operator. A free dedicated shuttle runs from the Sannomiya area. Under the timetable introduced on April 1, 2026, departures for Ren begin at 9:05 a.m. and generally run at :05 and :35 past the hour, with some skipped times later in the day. The return timetable is different; check both directions before setting out.
That timing matters if you want to use the 6 a.m. opening. The shuttle does not serve that early start, so plan to walk, take a taxi or use a local bus instead. The return shuttle drops passengers outdoors beneath the Port Liner tracks south of Sannomiya Bus Terminal, not inside the terminal; bring an umbrella in wet weather.
By public transport, Port Loop and Shinki Bus stop at Shinko-cho, about a one-minute walk from the facility. Drivers get seven hours of free parking with day-use bathing; after that, the posted charge is ¥300 per 30 minutes. That allowance can be used up if you leave the spa and continue sightseeing by car.
Age and tattoo rules: read the fine print
Day-use guests must be 12 or older. The hotel’s separate accommodation policy is different, so do not use it to decide whether a younger child can join a day visit.
Ren’s pages do not give a consistent answer about tattoos. The day-use fee page and FAQ introductions say tattooed guests are not admitted, regardless of size. Detailed answers in the Japanese day-use and bath FAQs describe a narrow exception for fashion tattoos fully covered by up to four paid 11.4 × 20 cm seals.
Because the general notice and detailed FAQ conflict, contact Ren before travelling if this applies to you. Do not assume your own tape or a swimsuit cover will be accepted.
The restaurant and lounge are part of the longer-stay setup, but dining plans have separate booking and cancellation conditions. The operator says meal-and-bath packages are reservation-only, and a 100% cancellation charge applies from noon two days before use. Ordinary day-use entry does not require you to book a meal plan.
For a less expensive bath near the HAT Kobe museums, compare awa awa KOBE with Ren. If you would rather spend the day in a hot-spring town than at a city spa, the Arima Onsen day-use guide covers a different kind of outing.
