COCOFURO Oomineyu in Osaka: Music Löyly, a 6am Opening and ¥600 Bathing
Plan a Hirano visit to COCOFURO Oomineyu: ¥600 bathing, a 6 am opening, music and silent Löyly sessions, plus a ¥300 sauna charge.
The old Oomine Onsen served Hirano for around six decades before closing in 2023. COCOFURO reopened the bathhouse in August 2024 after a renovation, keeping the neighborhood scale but adding an automatic Löyly sauna, cold bath and a more contemporary rest area.
It is a design-led neighborhood sento, not a large spa. You can fit in a bath and sauna without setting aside half a day, but there is no private bath, open-air landscape or all-day relaxation floor.
Oomineyu opens from 6am until midnight, with last entry at 11:30pm. It closes on the fourth Thursday of February, May, August and November. That early opening is the practical hook for travellers: you can bathe before a day out instead of giving up an evening slot. Osaka Metro Hirano Station is about a 12-minute walk; two city-bus stops are around five minutes away. There are 11 free parking spaces.
The walk makes this less of a casual stop if you are staying in Namba or Umeda. It works better from Hirano, east of Tennoji, or on a drive through Osaka’s southeast. The 11 spaces are free, but the lot is small enough that a busy weekend sauna session may mean waiting or using another option.
How the sauna sessions are timed
Music Löyly runs at the top and half-hour of each hour; silent sessions take place at :15 and :45. That gives you a choice between a music-backed burst of hot air and a quieter cycle. You do not need to stay for a full session if the heat feels uncomfortable.
The cold bath is about 90 centimetres deep. That figure refers to water depth, not temperature. The operator describes it as cold but does not publish a fixed temperature, which can vary over time.
Admission and what the ticket covers
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult bath | ¥600 |
| Sauna add-on | ¥300 |
| Adult bath plus sauna | ¥900 |
| Rental bath towel | ¥160 |
| Towel set | ¥290 |
| Logo hand towel | ¥130 |
The bath ticket covers the salt bath, electric bath, changing “colour” bath and soft-water cold bath. You do not need the sauna add-on to have more than a basic soaking tub. Shampoo and body soap are provided, and a towel can be rented or bought if you travel light.
The shop also sells basics such as underwear, toothbrushes, razors and skincare, so arriving without a full toiletry kit is manageable. The salt and rotating colour baths are part of the regular ticket; the sauna is optional.
The former name and the word “soft water” can cause confusion. COCOFURO’s current facility pages do not publish a natural spring analysis for Oomineyu, so it should be treated as a sento rather than a confirmed natural hot spring. The salt bath and rotating coloured bath are also separate features, not evidence of spring water. If you specifically want a documented natural spring, compare the options in our Osaka day-use onsen guide.
The salt bath is described at about 1% salt concentration. That is a feature-bath specification, not an analysis of natural spring water. The rotating colour bath changes its ingredients—such as herbs or bath additives—so check the day’s notice if you have sensitive skin or a specific ingredient to avoid.
A deep cold bath, with the measurement kept straight
The soft-water cold bath is about 90 centimetres deep. That is water depth, not a temperature reading. Recent sauna-site posts record different temperatures on different days; they are snapshots, not a permanent specification. If you are new to a deep cold bath, step in gradually and get out when it stops feeling comfortable.
A useful stop, not a place to sleep
There is a lounge area with seating, drinks, beer and soft serve. It works for a short break after bathing, but the operator does not describe it as an overnight or nap facility. If you arrive before hotel check-in, plan somewhere else to rest.
The rest area has sofas and tables, with Heartland draft beer and soft serve listed at ¥280. It is a place to cool down, have a drink or wait for friends—not somewhere to sleep. Save alcohol for after the bath; do not return to the sauna after drinking.
When a morning visit is worth it
The 6am opening is useful if an evening is already booked for dinner or sightseeing. Recent crowd notes have often described early morning as quieter, while a Saturday-night entry can be busy; those are dated visitor observations, not a promise about any particular day. A morning bath also leaves room to return to the hotel and eat before heading out.
The operator schedules Music Löyly at :00 and :30, with silent cycles at :15 and :45. You can pick the quieter quarter-hour if you would rather avoid the soundtrack. Leave the sauna as soon as the heat feels wrong; there is no benefit in forcing yourself to finish a cycle.
